The Filipina Vegetarian Chef
Hello, Steemians!
I’m Lovelyn from the Philippines.
I just graduated from Culinary School.
My interest is in cooking vegetarian and vegan food.
I love to create new recipes using different herbs and spices that are new to me.
I only use natural and organic ingredients in all my cooking for a healthy food.
I will share my recipes in my upcoming posts and I would love to hear comments and suggestion to add to my knowledge and ideas on how to make my cooking more tasty and healthy.
I've been experimenting making vegetarian dishes and most of them have been coming out delicious… and many of my Filipino friends who are not vegetarian are surprised that they taste so good.
As you may and may not know, most of the people here in the Philippines are not vegetarian
and most of the vegetable dishes here are made with fish sauce, shrimp paste or pork.
This is the reason why my friends are so surprised because there's no meat or fish sauce in them.
It is very difficult to find purely vegetarian and vegan dishes here in the Philippines. Some of the places where you can find purely vegetarian and vegan dishes are in big cities or at the seven days Adventist restaurant.
My other interest is learning how to generate income without having a job.
Because here in the Philippines is very difficult to find a good paying job.
Most jobs pay very little and you must work many hours a day for 6 days a week.
And this is why I joined Steemit. . .
To learn alternate ways on how to generate income, so I can support myself, my family, and achieve my dreams.
Here are the current things I'm working on:
• Improving my English skills ( speaking and writing)
• Putting together a vegetarian and vegan cookbook
• Making cooking videos on youtube
• Learning more about health
• Learning about finances

Hi Lovelyn :) nice to meet you! I really enjoyed reading your post. I live in Bali, we're so close to each other! I am also vegan and spend most of my day making vegan food, creating recipes and sharing. I would love it if we could help and share with each other. I am very interested in Philippine cuisine. We are lucky to have coconuts so available to us in the tropics, it makes vegan food so much easier to make (and delicious) Can't wait to see your recipes!
