As the name implies, it's about life, it's about science, and it's about music.

Time to get personal

My name is Mike and I'm from Germany.
Music is a big and important part of my life. I love being creative with music. I am a trained pianist and I also play some other instruments (guitar, drums, saxophone, accordion, bass). In addition, I think it's exciting to collect many different instruments. When composing, each instrument is inspiring in its own way. Every sound inspires very different ideas.

Music is part of life and enriches it in a wonderful way. I want to post my own music on this blog that is inspired by a variety of influences.
Thinking about music also touches on the areas of philosophy, psychology, and biology.
These are other big interests of mine. And there we are in the middle of the science.

Science is everywhere

We live in a very exciting time that brings forth many ideas. It's fascinating to see how the number of scientific discoveries is increasing faster and faster.
The fascination of discovery drives us, the age-old human desire to understand things and look behind the scenes.
That brings great opportunities, but is also accompanied by a huge responsibility that we all have to bear.

I would like to engage in interesting scientific trends on this blog. I am currently particularly interested in the areas of Life Sciences and Artificial Intelligence.
I like to program in Python myself and have been studying machine learning and deep learning for some time now.

I believe that in the field of AI in particular, most people still do not realize at all what upheavals are coming to our society. Of course, there are many opinions about it, as well as much panic and many hopes that will be put on it. But what is fact and what are realistic perspectives? Likewise, I find it exciting what great new opportunities arise through discoveries in the field of life sciences and medicine. Just the whole field of "personalized medicine", according to which each person is individually considered has a immense potential.

Lifelong Learning

I summarize: music, biology, medicine, psychology, philosophy and computer science...
I do not know how many countless books I have read about it, have attended online seminars and always find it exciting and challenging to incorporate myself in new knowledge areas. And the more doors you open, the more doors open up behind them. Is that frustrating?
I don't think so. The concept of lifelong learning, of constantly rethinking, being flexible is also totally exciting. Basically you have to be so modest and say with Socrates "I know that I know nothing"
