About me!
Well hello! Happy New Year! Welcome to my Steemit. I’m Amelia. I’m 26. I am a tea lovin’, natural hair product collecting, and soon-to-be mom of a Great Dane. I’m from Massachusetts, however I hate the winters. Like absolutely hate it but somehow, some unexplainable way I always get pulled back here. Like a magnet that can’t seem to pull itself off of the surface of a brand new stainless steel refrigerator. But here I am trying to figure out life, living in a place where the cold hurts my face.

My Educational Background
I have a Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a background in Emergency Medical Services and Management. I embark on a Masters Degree program next month. I have a few other certifications and unique skills that I’ll catch y’all up on at a later time. Otherwise life is rolling along.

Why Satin Caps?
While my girlfriend (@heyitsjooo) finally convinced me to join the Steemit community and after many, many attempts at creating a profile name, I finally settled on something I liked, something that is part of my life. Considering I’m part African American/Native American and part Mexican, I’m sure you can only imagine what this mixture of hair would look like if I didn’t tame it every night. Satin caps are everything. They are a simple, inexpensive, yet vital hair accessory to any “natural-hair-lista”. My life without a satin cap would be unpredictable and dreadful. I have natural hair and I love it. It’s wild and crazy and curly and I’m okay with that.

Yes I plan on being that dog mom who takes too many pictures of their furry child and has to capture every moment on video. My girlfriend and I are adopting a Great Dane puppy and we couldn’t be more excited. While Joana didn’t necessarily want a Great Dane (a.k.a. miniature horse and so-called gentle giants), I did and she finally gave in! So here goes nothing! After weeks of picking out the perfect name, the cutest puppy clothing and accessories, toys, collars, food/training treats, etc. I think we can officially say we are ready (or maybe we aren't, not 100% sure) but wish us luck! So stay tuned for milestone pictures, videos, dog treat recipes, etc.!

I hope to make y’all laugh, share some sort of life experiences and cliché motivational quotes, my daily hair struggles, and of course you’ll be hearing all about my Great Dane.
