Hello Steemit! We Are The Future of Social Media
Allow Me To Introduce Myself
I'm Denzel - A lover of languages, a curator of cultures, and a serious food-junkie (winning me over is as simple as giving me a plate of anything Indian, African, Mexican, or Korean lol).
Being born and raised in New York exposed me to a lot of different cultures early on in life and my curiosity for learning about the cultures of the world has only increased.
My travels so far have taken me to The Netherlands, Ghana, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic (Colombia is next up!)
The Progressing Polyglot
Due to my fascination with languages, I've been able to pickup a few of them over the years.
I speak Spanish, some Wolof (a West-African language spoken in Senegal, Gambia, and Mauritania), and currently learning French.
Learning languages to an intermediate or higher level has allowed me to have much more richer experiences while traveling the globe.
My target languages for the next 3 years include French and Swahili with plans to travel to Kenya, Tanzania, Belgium, France, Ivory Coast, and Senegal.
Well, that's pretty much it guys. I'm glad to be apart of this community and hope you'll enjoy the content that i'll be sharing here on Steemit about language learning, traveling, and culture.
If you haven't seen some of my videos already, you should check them out here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvHJnYInzgm8SYfjDrvePnw
Welcome
Welcome to Steem @languagelink I have upvoted and sent you a tip
Welcome! Steemit is a great place for a person learning languages. Please consider using dtube.video instead of YouTube too. Google has changed their motto from "do no evil" to "do hide evil." Do you recommend any particular applications or services for language learning? I'm on Duolingo learning Spanish and like it so far.
In addition to being a residential security expert, I'm a private investigator, so people watching is a passion of mine. One of the things I do is look through intro posts for new accounts that show promise. Yours does! There are a ton of other webpages to help you with Steemit. Here are some of the best for beginners:
https://steemd.com/ (This site is used to keep track of your voting power and other stats. You do not want to run out of voting power, and you only get so much per day. I keep my voting power around 80% for example.)
https://steem.makerwannabe.com/ (This site will tell you who follows you, who unfollows you, and who mutes you. It is great for meeting new people too. I regularly check it to see who has followed me to see if I should follow them back.)
https://steemit.chat/ (This site is the official chat webpage for Steemit. There are Discord channels too, but I usually stick to the official site. Come in to network and meet new friends. You can directly message people there too, so it makes it easier to communicate with your closest friends.)
Oh yeah, there are a lot of bots on here. If you see a cookie cutter reply, especially to your intro post, it is almost certainly a bot. Check the account's reputation. If it is low, I would recommend just ignoring them. Everything is public on Steemit, so you can go look at an account's comments and replies. Are they all the same? It's a bot.
Again, welcome, and I've followed you! If you have any questions about getting started, look me up on the chat site.
I heard about DTube, i'll check it out for sure. Some other good language learning apps include: HelloTalk, HiNative, and LingQ. I'm following you as well now. Thanks for sharing this!
You're very welcome, and I'll check out those other sites! :)
Hi,
The #Spanish Tag should only be used for Spanish-language posts.

@languagelink..u are welcome to steemit
Thanks! I'm glad to be here
Welcome :)!
Here a few tips for starters snce you probably won't get any advice from those who comment under here, here's what I gathered thus far.
It's tough to make money at first so if that's your main cause to be on here grind that into your head straight away, that doesn't mean you shouldn't post content, you should, but enganging with others in the comment sections to grow your following is your best bet. Which categories?
Probably the introduce yourself one and the photography section but you can choose things that you have knowledge about too and then go from there just know that there is a lot of crap on here so plowing through that just to connect with others can be tough. Cheers.
