Hi Steemians! I'm Kate and I live in Glasgow, Scotland with my husband, Adam, our two beautiful children, Reid and Fox - not to forget my two even more beautiful cats, Man Puss and Indy.

Introduced to Steemit by my newly addicted Steemian husband @munchell, it seems like an excellent and supportive platform to share knowledge and experiences.

So a little about my background and what you can expect to read on my blog.

After spending 5 years studying Biology at university I fell into the trap of many new graduates and took a completely unrelated job - in retail management. Although my new career didn't look exactly as planned, it wasn't all bad. It's given me many memorable experiences and I've made life-long friends along the way, however after 6 years it was time to embark on a whole new chapter in my life.

After the birth of my second child, Fox, I made the decision to not return to work but instead embrace family life and become a stay-at-home-mum.

I don't think anybody could have predicted the way in which my new role would change me. Concentrating solely on caring for my children and household gave me the opportunity to reassess the way in which we lived. Each daily household task I carried out I began to question; the meals I cooked, the products I bought on the weekly shop, our healthcare options, our entire way of life. My natural interest in health coupled with the drive for my new role of houseperson was the perfect recipe for transformation.

I began to read and research, a lot! Gradually, changes were made. I tried, tested and experimented with natural alternatives to replace our previous consumer driven ways.

Two years later and my life - my family's lives - are now virtually unrecgonisable. I genuinely believe we are physically healthier, mentally stronger and emotionally more aware of the world we live in. And I have graduated from standard housewife to 'the health-nut housewife'!
