A young man's journey.
Hi, I'm Jordan. Glad to be here. I'm a 29-year old college dropout and proud of it! I count myself fortunate to have escaped the serfdom that is having student debt, not to mention the indoctrination that passes for education today (#negativefeedbackloop). It's been an interesting journey for me thus far. I'm still a young man and it's been about 2 years since I woke up from the American Dream. I've got good people like Jeff Berwick (Dollar Vigilante) who actually introduced me to Steemit, Mike Maloney (Goldsilver.com), Pet er Schiff (EuroPacific Bank) and others to thank, especially all the Tylers and others who post over at ZeroHedge. Special shout-out to Steve St. Angelo over at SRSrocco Report for shedding light on the falling EROI that our civilization is facing.
I guess you could say I've always been the kind of person to rebel against authority; I'm headstrong and stubborn to a fault. Even at church, I question and analyze everything. Sometimes I think I have more in common with atheists than Christians; too many of us want to just go with emotion instead of actually using our God-given minds (crazy to think I enjoy listening to George Carlin considering his views on religion, but he does make very good points). Learning how to think critically is something I consider to be one of my greatest accomplishments. Ironically, I ended up joining the Navy out of High School. I'll leave you to your deductions on how well that turned out :D. Miraculously, I survived 4 years and got an honorable discharge.
I'm far from an expert in any field, but I devour all of the information I can get that is worthy of my consumption. We have to be well-informed if we're going to make through all the hell that is coming down the pike. I figure it'll be nice to have a layman's perspective on how things are shaping up to be. God bless.
Hey Jordan, Very well thought out plan. I think you are on the right track. Keep it up. I happen to be 40 years older than you so I've seen a few things.
Welcome to Steemit!
welcome to the future.
Welcome to STEEM. Love your comment on thinking critically. We just need to learn to have dialogue and conversations without 'offending' each other.
Welcome dude!

Hi there! It sounds like we have a few things in common...especially when I was still attending a church ;) I think realizing I had more in common with non-religious people might have been one of my first steps out that particular door.
I'm all about breaking through the boxes we find ourselves in, and it sounds like you are on the same track.
Welcome @jwwright2007, I hope you love this place as much as I do ;)
