Why Typical Colleges Are Out of Date!

Hello I'm hoping I'm not the only one out there that has been noticing things have been going wrong for a while! I'm an 18 year old from Ohio and just graduated High School. Like most people around the same age I have been thinking about what I want to pursue in college or dealing with the big "What should I do with my life" question. But some or most of my friends are all going to college and going to the typical colleges living on a campus. There is no problem with that as I like the idea of living around people going through college with you to help you out and just to meet people. The problem is that a lot of people are jumping into college recently that have no clue what they want to do and just taking "popular" classes that their friends are taking. Why, I will never understand! Most are expecting to spend $10,000-$20,000 a year some way more than that. On average the class of 2016 graduates have a debt of $37,172 up 6% from just last year! On top of that in 2010, only 62 percent of college graduates had a job that actually required a college degree. And only 27% of college grads got a job that was related to their major. Why is this generation using college as a sort of "get away" from home and going tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt just to go party and get a less of an education than they would of just going to a more local community branch FOR LESS MONEY! Has anyone else across the U.S. noticed new college kids doing the same?

I got to agree, America's college will have to change from the path it's on, but it could take 20+ years before they realize how far behind there 3rd level education is falling compared to the rest of the world.

Exactly I forgot to mention how slow they have all been changing or implementing new ideas!

Great to have you Welcome!

Thanks! Thanks to all you guys for the votes cant wait until we all have enough power to make a differece!
