@abarefootpoet @mindhunter @lifeworship @skeptic calling out these users...for my personal steemit awards

So I've been on steemit for almost a month, and this will also serve as my introduction post now since I never made one.

I don't usually bother with social networking platforms or social media in general since most of time it's just really enthusiastic cyber circle-jerking. But I'd heard about steemit in an online interview touted as something like "truly decentralized, uncensored, social-network driven media based on blockchain technology yada yada yada". And while it hasn't lived up to all of that in my opinion, I still think it's a very worthwhile platform and for sure a step in the right direction.

Which is the reason for this new series of posts. I finally got a chance to relax and browse a bunch of random posts in my feed, and got the idea for this post. My opinions obviously don't hold any significant weight since I'm not a whale, or well-known in the community or anything like that. So I guess this will probably best serve new users looking for particular content/users to follow, and they'll know these recommendations come from a normal guy without any other motive. I think this is the best way to show what I'm about and why I'm here.

I'd like to say in advance that my picks are definitely biased, for both personal and practical reasons. I'd like to promote new users and everything (I still consider myself to be new), but personally, I'm much more interested in the actual quality of content. Plus there are curation guilds aimed towards us noobs already. More importantly, there're just too many stupid and shady agendas masquerading as social movements that try to steer or divert attention into or away from certain issues, ultimately depriving the "good stuff" of deserved attention.

Anyway...biases. So besides being biased towards posts about subjects I'm personally interested in (duh), the more consistent and frequent posters will obviously just have more content available within a few scrolls of the top of my feed. But if this goes on for a while, then hopefully the quality posters will have stuck around long enough for me to spot.

Favorite Poet: @abarefootpoet

So this might sound bad, but if asked, I wouldn't really be able to recall a single poem by @abarefootpoet. But really, I think that it's actually one of the many ineffable qualities of his (her? just checked, "his" is right) poetry. To me, they just scream out in contrast to our digitally obsessed/immersed day-to-day as authentically...authentic? human and organic. Most Prolific Poster (and replier?): @mindhunter

When I try to picture mindhunter (yea I'm weird, I try to imagine the person posting), I imagine someone mainlining coffee into the same arm that he had a holographic keyboard implanted into, while typing up a post with his other arm. Of course that's ridiculous...he probably just dictates his posts to a corneal implant that also automatically replies by extrapolating his subconcious reactions to comments--way faster. But yea, if you want the equivalent of a blown-off fire hydrant directly hosed up to your feed while still enjoying thoughtful posts AND replies...then follow @mindhunter here: https://steemit.com/@mindhunter

After a month here, I've noticed that it's pretty rare to get a real conversation going (note to people who can implement this, please install PM feature!). I'm guessing other users have also noticed, and given up on going beyond casual or thoughtless replies, which is a pity, because I feel like the community is definitely developing a very unique/specific personality that would benefit further from deeper interactions between users. I actually LOLed at the end of that second video. Do you know HOW RARE THAT IS? I don't think the internet's made me lol since i was a teenager. I don't LOL even though I type it multiple times a day. I'm seriously trying to estimate my typed LOL to physically executed LOL ratio...it's gotta be over 200:1. But it's not just about the laughs. His posts also demonstrate his ongoing dedication to exposing the social insincerity and pretension of political correctedness, which coincides with my own interests (the agenda behind the PC movement).
