Nicolas Maduro about cryptocurrency 'Petro': It is the future of humanity

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said that the "Petro", the Venezuelan cryptocurrency, was praised by more than 30 countries, for being an initiative that he described as "the future of humanity".💱🌠

"We are pioneers in the world in taking out a cryptocurrency backed by its mineral resources (...) it is very clear that Venezuela has taken a firm and necessary step for its financial development," Maduro said during an event in Bolívar state.

The National Head of State announced that in the next few days he will sign the creation of the certificates that will give value and guarantee to the cryptocurrency. "We put Petro as support for thousands of barrels of oil from the Orinoco oil belt, the largest reserve in the world certified," he said.

It is planned to include the country's gold and diamond reserves as support for Petro. "I have told Minister Cano, that we do it with gold, with diamond and that the cryptocurrency has an endorsement with gold, and Venezuelan diamond, and other mineral wealth," he announced.
