My Introduction

My name is Heather. I live in the beautiful state of GA with my wonderful husband and lovely daughter. I am Home School Mom who also volunteers at the GA Aquarium. On my account I am going to share all the things that bring me joy in my life. Hope you enjoy the journey around the sun with me.

I like to fill my spare time with creativity. So when I am not doing the every day things to keep up with the house and helping my daughter with school work. I am being a creative artsy person in multiple ways.
One thing I have had in my life since I can remember is sewing. I was surrounded with that from a very young age thanks to both my Grandmother and my Mother. I always had amazing hand made clothes and lots of special items that were created with love. What I like to make are thing that make our house look amazing. Like curtains and pillows. I also enjoy making Halloween costumes for our daughter. Also, enjoy making special gifts for friends and family.

I also enjoy spending time in my perennial flower garden. Love to see the beautiful flowers that come up year after year. Some of the flowers are really special to me. I have rose bushes that were Mother's Day gifts. And I also have Iris that that were planted in WV by my Grandmother. Also, Peonies that were planted on the same property by my Great Grandmother. All loving transplanted to GA for my family to enjoy year after year.

I think Pintrest was one of the best things ever invited! I love the electronic filing cabinet that is at my figure tips. When I need a recipes, decorating ideas, ideas for school, or anything you can think of just head to Pintrest. And no I am not someone who pins all these ideas and never does them. I use the things I find all the time. Example, we have a very big wall in our breakfast are of the house. Been looking at this plan wall for years. One day I saw this great idea! After collecting frames and attaching hooks to the wall we have this AMAZING functional art wall. Come on over for a cup of coffee :)

As you can probably guess I am a bit of a Shutter Bug! Not really sure where my love of taking pictures came from but I am always snapping pictures. Whether it be just every day life(cats, flowers, family) or special occasions(weddings, dance pictures, birthdays). I am usually the one behind the camera capturing memories to last a life time. Some of the pictures end up in scrapbooks and others end up in frames hanging on the wall. On the whole most end up being sent to friends and family via some from of Social Media or texting. My husband jokes that digital photography saved our marriage. Now I don't have to print all the pictures I take. Saves a lot of money!

All these things I do are things I love but I also do them to share with my wonderful family. Life is always better with lovely things around you. That have special meaning to them. My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary this year. Been ups and downs but always an adventure no matter what. Our daughter is a lovely and talented 14 year old dancer. She keeps us on our toes. As a family we enjoy the outdoors and geeky stuff. We are excited about Dragon Con which is coming up in two weeks. My Mom still lives in WV and visit often. We always enjoy her visits. My younger Brother comes to visit every other Christmas. And we always have an amazing time with him! I am so happy for the electronic age. So easy to keep in touch with loved ones that are so far away.

Our family also includes 3 Siamese. Life is never dull with them around. They are either making us laugh with their antics! Or they giving us lots of kitty love.

My days are not just filled with things around the house, dance classes, and family time. I have been a volunteer at the GA Aquarium for 10 years now. I deiced to do this to have some me time. Staying home with a little one can be exhausting and you forget what things look like outside your four walls. It has been an amazing experience! I have gotten to meet people from all over the world and get to share my love of animals with them. Also, I get to hang out with some amazing animals! I get to spend time watching them every time I am there. And I have had chance to interact with some of them up close and personal. I have feed an Octopus. Feed and touched Sea Otters and Beluga Whales. And have swam with Whale Sharks and Manta Rays. I look forward to every shift I have a the aquarium. Never now what will happen.
