Hello, friends. My name is Hannah Bonner, and I am a 20-year-old college kid who loves to write. I have a lot to say and nowhere to put it, so here I am.

I'm currently a sophomore at the University of North Texas as an Education major. I hope to teach 2nd graders one day and teach them all of the normal school things like math and science, but there's so much more I want to teach them.
Teachers are pretty unique. They spend 8 hours a day with 20-30 kids that aren't theirs, go home to kids that are theirs, sleep, and then come back to work to be with that same group of kids for 8 more hours. They start as strangers and slowly grow to become their students' mentor and friend. Teachers have an insanely high amount of influence in the world, and I want to use that influence. I want kids to know that no matter how old they are, their voice matters. Just because they're kids doesn't mean they cannot make a difference. I also want to use my influence to make them understand that being kind does not make you soft or weak. In fact, it makes you incredibly strong. Being able to be kind in the face of adversity is one of the greatest and rarest strengths there is, and one that I'm still trying to master. I want to grow and learn with my students, not act like I know more than them just because I'm older. These children are our future. The shy girl in the back could become one of NASA's top engineers. The little boy who's always talking and wants to be friends with everyone could also end up being a teacher one day. These kids aren't just kids that randomly got put in my classroom. They are the future and they matter so much. I want them to understand that. I want to get that through their heads more than any math equation or the order of the water cycle. That's the most important thing they can learn. They matter.
Anyways, that's my little spiel. I hope you guys enjoy what I have to say, because there's kind of a lot of it.
