Intro

A warm welcome to one and all, thank you for taking the time to read this post. My name is Arshad Mahomed and have been working with alternatives to health and the likes for just over 5 years. My journey started when my mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and subsequently went the western medical route for treatment, this was the “cut (surgery), burn (chemo / radiation), medicate”, needless to say that didn’t end well.

During this time I had started becoming aware of many things that I was ignorant of, this included things like what we eat, how we live and the options we choose should we have a problem. I was startled to say the least realising that “we” have been causing our own illness’ by not knowing the truth. Writing this with the idea that the @Steemit users are more aware than the general public changes my mood positively while writing this in the knowing that the audience will “get it”.

So while my mother’s body was breaking down due to the effects of the chemo, I came to learn of many options available to tackle these critical conditions. I took charge of taking care of her and quit everything else, during this time in deep reflection I came to see the effects of our lifestyle and choices we made based on what we were told by those we are supposed to trust only to realise that they know so little and focused heavily on the bottom line. These veils of illusion forced my spirit into the driver seat and once my eyes were open, there was only one path to take, follow the path to the truth.

We did the best we can and even though my mother, Mona Gabr Mahomed passed away on 9.11.2011 due to lung failure. The tumour had reduced in size greatly, starting with it being so big that she was unable to eat or excrete as the secondary tumour was now in the colon and had spread to the liver and lungs. Having started with ovarian and post chemo spread to all parts of the body I started to wonder how that was possible, only to learn over the years that it wasn’t just her that this happened to, and chemo can actually cause what is called secondary cancers.

Background

When I started thinking the alternative route I seemingly attracted a couple that had been treating dreaded disease only with natural products for some 20 years. After my meeting with these souls from Doctors Across Borders (or as they are fondly known as ‘DAB’) and learning of their alternative protocols and natural medicines, it was as if all our questions about health had been answered. At the time there was no central outlet in Johannesburg that offered all of the natural medicines required by the DAB protocols, and so it was with the intention of healing, Free Mind Health was born in 2013 under the funding umbrella of fM Media. Since then, we have grown in knowledge, gratitude as well as in product range – having sourced a group of excellent suppliers, enabling us to give you the best quality natural medicines at a reasonable price. We are also proud to announce that our partnering with CompraPrac Medical and fMMedia has resulted in the opening of a wellness centre @ Lonehill Shopping Centre.

The team at Doctors across borders have been treating what they termed “ the forgotten people” in rural areas where there was no access to medical treatment, they did this for over 20 years and all at their own expense. We managed about 81 rural clinics over this time yet due to financial constraints recently they had to let go of a few and handover other to doctors who were willing to carry on the mission.

Future Aims

Being exposed to new technologies through our network, we are able to embrace and understand the potential of innovations such as Steemit and other blockchain services. Since all of this I have become a registered practitioner under the Traditional Health Organisation and have a practice number. Who would have thought that without going to “medical school” one can end up practicing wellness. Heart, soul and intent speak far louder than any degree or money. This talks to where are now working with like minded people and solutions that truly empower.
