The Deserted Bridge

Do you still remember?
Our first time on the bridge,
under the protection of your umbrella.
You called it the cover of love,
just like trees protected grasses in a boulevard.

Not long ago,
love left us like autumn.
You left without a word,
you said you seek greener pasture,
with no guarantee if its greener on that side.

I waited on the bridge for you,
as days passed away like morning dew.
Yet you never showed up,
but I still hope you would emerge one day.

You made the bridge heaven on earth,
now it's lifeless, deserted and haunted.
I'll wait for you, even till am seventy,
with hopes that one day you'd return,
and the umbrella can be hoisted as a flag,
a symbol of our love; right on the bridge we once walked.
