Hey Steemit!

I’m Alexa and I love almost all aspects of writing. I also dabble in art (specifically watercolor or digital) and won't turn down a potter's wheel if the opportunity presents itself.
One of my favorite things to do is take pictures. I'm no proffesional, but I love capturing a moment within the lense of my camera and sharing it with my close friends and family. Now maybe I can share that with some of you.
My Steemit page will (hopefully) be poems or observations I’ve written based off pictures I’ve taken or seen. Of course knowing me it will also be filled with a miscellaneous assortment of other things I find intriguing or cool to look at.

I’m from a small town in Massachusetts that doesn't even have a high school in it. One of my favorite things about New England is the colors that decorate our trees in the fall. The views here never cease to inspire me whatever the season and I hope I can share some of that inspiration here with you.

When I was eight a friend and I had a notebook of silly poems we wrote every day on the bus to school. Looking back they were pretty good for two seven year olds having fun, even though the rhyming schemes are totally cheesy and the subjects are "so totally random!!!!" I've always used writing as an outlet, whether it be adlib rhymes that I disguise as puns throughout the day, or topics that have more serious themes.

Side note-I tried to find the notebook my friend and I used to write down these poems but couldnt locate it. Instead I found some from even earlier than that, when I couldn't even write. I would draw the pictures and my mom would write down the poems.

Apparently one of my greatest fears as a child was sentient vampire teeth...

On a rainy morning I'll sit on the floor with my two dogs and attempt to write even as Ginger crawls into my lap, expertly inserting her head between my hand and the keyboard or pencil. They're both attention hounds (breed pun intended) and will use whatever tactic they can to get a pat from licking the air to licking my hand to attempting to lick my mouth. Even though they're scoundrels I love them and they always do get that pat they so desperatley need.
