Introducing.... Edwin Economics!

I joined the steemit community a bit over a week ago and have so far posted 5 articles, gained 15 followers, and have earned current rewards of 0.039 SBD and 0.023 SP, both of which I know nothing about. I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to technology so I still haven't figured out how this whole 'steemit' thing works, but I'm clearly doing something wrong if I can't get any attention... it seems most people do an 'introduceyourself' piece so here I am giving that a go...

Perhaps the other reason I haven't earned too many followers is that my content is about economics, a subject which I'm sure most people aren't too interested in, but a subject that is very important to society and one that has played a big part in all of you joining the steemit community... in case you've been sleeping over the last decade, we've just been through a global financial crisis that caused governments to panic and print trillions of dollars to bail out the banking system and stop everything from collapsing. Problem is, it didn't really work... all that money printing only delayed the inevitable and the extreme weakness of the financial system has driven many people to alternative investments such as bitcoin, etherium and other cryptocurrencies, including steemit

This is a very serious problem that we should all take seriously, but unfortunately we've been dumbed down into a society that favors hot women writing travel blogs and posting pictures in their bikini over understanding the economy we all depend on. Nevertheless, I will continue my efforts to educate the masses, one person at a time if that's what it takes..
