Mount Leuser National Park, named after the highest peak, Mount Leuser (3,381 m), is one of the largest and most diverse national parks in Indonesia, covering an area of 7,927 square kilometers in the northern tip of Sumatra, Indonesia.
Leuser Mountain National Park holds 2 global status as Biosphere Reserve in 1981 and as World Heritage in 2004. Both status is determined by UNESCO and World Heritage Committee on the proposal of Indonesian government after going through a series of strict selection process.
