Why did I Join Steemit!!!!?

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hey steemians, I am new to steemit. I am a crypto enthusiast. I have been studying cryptocurrencies since 2015. To be honest, the crypto community has become quite toxic. I am sick of seeing youtubers promoting useless coins and earning money through the referral program. They are basically backstabbing the ones that trust them. From promoting Ponzi schemes like bitconnect to making courses online, all now matters is the money.Bitconnect2.png
Then there are scammers who promise people to X2, X3 their money and end up taking everything from them. I wanted to make a YouTube channel to genuinely help people in this crypto world but being a college student my schedule wasn't permitting me to do so. So I started searching for a platform so share my knowledge and landed on steemit. I found that this community is quite active and has some serious crypto traders and investors. So from here on I will try to share as much as I know to you guys. I will give updates on different cryptocurrencies, will review various coins/ ICOs and will give my picks that I consider have huge potential in future. Would love to hear your opinion.
Hoping that this steemit experience will be an unforgettable one.

Thank you for the comment!

hey there! I am a new user as well... So far steemit has both it's up and down sides (starting with comments: Hey! Follow me! good bye!).
I wish you all the luck and I hope that you will make this webside better not worse

thank you. Will try my best!

Good good! Now follow me! =))

Welcome to Steemit! Hope to see some content made specifically for the community here.

Very cool introduceyourself post @codenamejoker. I agree there is a literal money grab with a lot of ICOs that are going to make nothing but harder for any more of them to come out in the future if this keeps up. Best of luck, I am glad to see your account green-lit! By the way, I also wanted to invite you to a contest I an event I am hosting for newbies like yourself... https://steemit.com/earthnation/@cryptkeeper17/win-steemit-upvotes-for-life-with-a-free-membership-to-steembasicincome

Thank you for the comment!

@codenamejoker welcome. Im right with ya on the crap coin promotion. They only promote so they can catch the quick pump and dump on a cheap coin. Steemit has a purpose and its here to stay if you ask me.

Hi, I was on Steemfollower and found you.

I've been reading up a bit on Bitcoin and cryptos since last year, but have pretty much ignored most things related to ICOs and new coins because of the things you mentioned.

Welcome to Steemit. It has its shortcomings, but the community is nice. Or, this is what I think so far.

PS: off-topic... do you believe in the Phantom Thieves? XD

Hahaha. Sorry, I saw your username and couldn't resist. Since you've only talked about crypto, I have no idea if you are into video games. If you didn't catch this video game reference, then never mind. Feel free to ask if you want me to explain the reference.

I do agree that people ignore ICOs as most of them are scams but if you do your research, ( Do read my second post if u need any tips) you could get a healthy profit from them.
P.S : I don't play a lot of video games so you can explain me the reference :P
This username is just a random creation of my mind.

I've read the post and voted it from Steemfollower. Those are some nice tips. My favorite one is the one about seeing what problems the coin is supposed to solve, which also addresses the question, "Is coin X better than coin Y?" (depends on the problem the coins' are trying to solve and whether, or how well, they manage to solve it).

PS: the reference is about a game called Persona 5. Basically, it's a Japanese RPG about a group of teenagers that moonlight as vigilantes, with the power to enter corrupt people's minds and "steal" (remove) their corruption. With no more corruption in their hearts, the targeted people realize how wrong their actions were, and usually confess their crimes and turn themselves in. The group of teenagers is called The Phantom Thieves, and the leader's code name is Joker! In the game's setting, there's a forum with a poll asking questions like, "Are the Phantom Thieves just?" or, "Do you believe in the Phantom Thieves?" and shows the percentage of the general public that believes in them. If the Phantom Thieves were real, I'm sure they'd do something about those scammers! :D

This game is a field day to those who enjoy stories with involving plots and lots of character development. It's out for both PS3 and PS4. I suggest you check it out if you have the chance.

Thanks for the upvote. The game sounds interesting, will try it for sure :P

I hope you'll like it. If you have any questions about the game, feel free to ask.
