My first day on steemit and why I think it could be revolutionary
I remember the day when YouTube announced it would be giving its content creators the ability to monetize their videos and I knew it was a game changer.
It gave people a platform to make a living doing what they love that never existed before. So many people who up until then had been trapped in the machine working a dead end job to make ends meet now had a dream they could actually achieve.
It was a good ride for many and a ride that seems to be unfortunately coming to an end as it would appear YouTube itself is waging on the dream it had created..
Since the adpocalypse last year the potential earnings of YouTubers all across the board has dropped drastically! A 75% loss of earnings now all but uncommon..
As YouTube wages war upon the very people who made it the powerhouse it is today I believe it does so in a comfortable arrogance. I mean where is their competition? What alternative would the creators have if they decided to take their content elsewhere?
Only a month ago as I pondered the bizarre policy changes YouTube was making I thought this has to be suicide surely! Only to then solemnly think well realistically only a competing site could truly put the nail on there coffin..
I didn't know about steemit or dtube then but now that I have found them it's clear. These sites are the nail in the coffin they will keep the fire burning for content creators and keep the dream alive and on top of that bring millions into the world of crypto currencies.
Crypto currencies has always been an elusive enigma to me. While being aware of its existence I've only gazed at it from afar with a raised eyebrow knowing fine well it was the future but where the hell do I begin understanding it..
Now after a simple sign up to this site I'm actually earning simple by being creative! Astounding!
I believe this site is the start of something huge and we will all be here to watch something incredible happen!
