Excited to Join the Steemit Community!

My name is Brendan and I’m a college student currently studying financial analysis. I came across Steemit by chance about a week ago while browsing YouTube. After about an hour of learning how the system works and telling everyone I know about it, I decided to make an account and see where it takes me.

Some of my interests include stock trading (although not successfully yet, I’m still refining my strategy), cars (cool ones, unlike my 2004 Honda Accord), and useless knowledge (did you know that all banana trees are genetically identical?). I plan on using Steemit as a tool to document whatever miscellaneous thoughts go through my head, whether it’s insightful, intelligent, dark, or just plain stupid.

I also love to travel when I get the chance, which isn’t very often when you live in the United States. The picture above is from the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, which should definitely be on everyone’s bucket list. I’ve also been to Sweden, Denmark, various places in Canada, all over the United States, and Guatemala. I’ll be travelling to Portugal and Spain this summer, which I’m looking forward to!

I’ve always been a lurker on social media because I’ve never had any incentive to post anything. I haven’t posted anything on Facebook in nearly 4 years despite browsing my feed on a daily basis. I’m hoping that Steemit will change this for me so I can share my ideas with the world. Happy Steeming!
