PSA from Penny the Beagle: Stop and Smell the Flowers
In honor of it apparently being Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month, I wanted to take a moment and introduce Penny to the Steemit Community, because after all, she can't introduce herself!
This is Penny:
Penny is a silver tick Beagle (hence the gray and white!). She is 11 years old and lives with my fiance and me in Madison, WI.
Penny had a previous life as a laboratory research animal for 5 years, before she was rescued by my fiance. We like to say that she's retired.
Even though she's enjoying retirement, she stays active and has lots of favorite activities:
- She's incredible good at waiting patiently for her dinner. See for yourself:
Penny waiting to be fed!
- She's good at being regal:

- Sometimes, she likes to be lazy:
Penny not wanting to get out of bed (I can usually relate)
- Finally, she's pretty good at being silly too:

While I was walking her the other day, I was pretty stressed out about work, etc. And that's when she told me, "Dad, you should stop stressing out and enjoy this walk more!". Ok, she didn't say that, but she did stop and smell some flowers for a looong time, which is pretty much the same thing.

I think we can all take a lesson from Penny and stop and smell the flowers more often...
Cheers!
