My Introduction to Steemit!

My name is Mayra. I am a Holistic Practitioner / Medical Cannabis Educator and Live Cell Analyst. For fun I love to sing and perform.

I would like to be a part of this community because I want to share my knowledge with those who need it and want to learn from you myself.

My Education

I graduated from an arts high school in Mississauga - Canada as a vocal major and honor student. I then moved to Poland to study Medicine in an English program they offered for international students. After 4 years of Med School I decided being a doctor was not my calling. I wanted to help people in a different way so I moved back to Canada and decided to continue my studies in natural medicine instead. Details of this transition are for another post.

Holistic Nutrition and Wellness

I enrolled myself at The Institute of Holistic Nutrition and graduated as a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Wellness consultant I love this approach of healing the body way better then the mainstream medical system. The big difference here is that mainstream medicine only masks symptoms with very dangerous pharmaceutical drugs. Holistic Nutrition treats the body as a whole, body, mind and spirit. It finds the root causes of ailments and uses natural modalities and remedies that don't have a million side effects. Main stream medicine gives people an easy fix that doesn't last long, alternative medicine requires a person to work hard to change lifestyle and habits giving long lasting effects.

Medical Marijuana Patient Educator

My interest in marijuana started in Medical School, when I heard from a few professors it can be used as a medicine yet it is illegal and a very "taboo" drug. So many people smoked marijuana recreationally around me and I tried it my self as well. I continue studying this herb and its effects in the body and found that it has a lot of stigma. Due to the lack of education, marijuana gets used improperly and avoided by those who might really need it. Now that Canada is talking about legalizing recreational marijuana it is more important then ever to educate people about this herb. I got a job two years ago at a Cannabis company and entered a very interesting world. I now work with a License Producer where I help patients get legal access to medical marijuana and educate them on how to use the medication responsibly.

Live Cell Analyst

This one is a little tricky. I took the course and became a Live cell analyst, but sadly I have not been able to fully practice due to a lack of funds to buy a microscope. Can you believe it costs $10,000 to buy a dark field microscope?. Crazy right? well I didn't research before I took the course and then I was left with a big curiosity whole. Well, I am not giving up! I am giving it another shot in May 2018. I am doing a course review and finally getting my microscope. Live cell analysis allows you too see your blood in real time, it can tell at one glance whether your blood is healthy or not. It can show inflammation, dehydration, liver congestion, hormonal imbalances, fungal, bacteria, parasites infections and more. I can't wait to start showing you pictures of different cases.

Passion

Music to me heals everything, particularly I love Singing . This is something I would love to share as well with the steemit community and hope to be an inspiration and show people is never too late. I put singing to the side when I went to university but no more. I was lucky enough to get a manager. It is a slow process but at least I have been able to work on my passion even if its less the part time. Performing is something I am still working on and need to get better at. I am open to advice and suggestions from all you performers out there.

Personal

I am 27 years old, I am married to a good man, Raul (Sometimes drives me crazy) but love always conquers. I have a strong character 3 year old daughter, Luci and two loyal furry companions, Stella and Lucas. My personal life, like any life is full of ups and downs. I have a few stories from my past that could be pretty entertaining, dramatic and somewhat funny. I'll share them because I believe it could be healing for myself. One last thing I also speak Spanish, Polish and French.
