Avid Gardener, Builder, Investor, Amateur Cook, and Lifelong Learner - Let's Grow steemit Together!
Hello!
After spending time on a lot of different social media platforms to learn and share information I stumbled upon steemit. Other platforms are great(stackexchange, Quora, reddit, YouTube, forums, even Instagram) and steemit builds on them by allowing for more discourse between content providers and users!
I do not claim to be an expert in anything, but there are a few things that I do an adequate job of and I would love to share those experiences and see what fascinating ideas, foods, or things others are creating!
A few things about me:
- I love plants and have always had an intimate relationship with them. About 2 years ago I undertook the journey of rebuilding my soil and beginning my own garden! It was so much fun and extremely rewarding. I built a worm farm(vermicompost) and began organically and naturally rebuilding the soil. I am located in Southern California and would love to share tips and tricks to deal with this tricky arid weather! Maybe we could even set up a steemit seed swap! Here are some pics of my recent harvests!
Bokchoy:
First Strawberry!!
Zucchini, cucumber, yellow pear tomato, orange heirloom tomatoes
Another one:
- I love to build things! By trade I am a general contractor but I love to tinker and make things with my own hands, hope to meet more DIY-ers!
Finishing up framing on a home I built last year:
For a brief time I was in the whirlwind world of VC, Start-Ups, and Silicon Beach. I was involved with several angel investors and got to meet all kinds of cool people! I met Alexis Ohanian(reddit founder, might have to dig up that photo...) and had a great conversation with him. In fact, the conversation I had with him was a turning point in my life and I will never forget it. I doubt he will ever read this but thank you Mr. Ohanian. I am an active member in several groups in Los Angeles and am always looking to meet people with interesting new ideas!
I am a amateur cook. A couple of years ago I had a few injuries that caused me to really take a step back and evaluate my health and lifestyle choices. I had to do something about my health and it turns out that if you put a little elbow grease into your food(not real elbow grease, mind you) you can make something delicious without being TOO terrible for you and it is FUN! I found it to be more enjoyable to cook something with friends or family and learning how to improve it was a much more rewarding experience then say getting take out and going on a Netflix spree(I have been guilty of this countless times). Here are some dishes I cooked up recently! Note: I do not really own any fancy cooking equipment I sort of just wing it...lol Any and all tips welcome!
Prime Rib First Try
It was successful but too much meat! Had to find a way to use it up. Cue up the ramen! Everytime I cook ramen it reminds me of Tanpopo. I loved that movie as a kid, used to watch it with my father all the time.
The one I made for my brother was plated much better I think, the eggs and onions really add some pizzazz
Some cute vegan cinnamon rolls:
- I am a lifelong learner and dabble in all sorts of things! There is never a shortage of things to learn, there is merely the obstacle of time. Hopefully I don't pick up a new hobby from steemit :P
Hope that was not too dry a read for most of you! Would like to know if people are more interested in any of these topics? I am also an avid photographer and I will be sharing a few photos on my next post!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I see a versatile person for the first time! it seems luck is on your side. in all cases, success is visible!
Thank you for your kind words! I think everyone is versatile, just takes some time for it to show :)
Great pictures! I Like strawberries 👍🏼
Me too!! Have you heard of pineberries! They are so delicious but so hard to grow...going to try them again this year. They look like strawberries but the colors are inverted, white skin and red seeds, and taste like pineapple!
