Hi my name is Andy, and I like electronics!
Hello, Steemit, my name is Andy. I was introduced to this site from a friend @sykochica, She actually told me about it previously, shortly after she started. I was reluctant about it at first, and forgot about it.
Just recently, I talked to @sykochica again, and she brought up steemit, and her blog posts. This time around I decided to give it a shot.
As someone who was born in USA, my English sucks. As part of blogging, I am hoping that will improve. Sorry in advance!
About me: My name is Andrew, but, people call me Andy. I am 27 years old, I was born in California, only lived there until I was 7 (will talk about why in a future blog post) I now live in the midwest. Enjoying the winter/summer in the same week. I am wanting to get a degree in Mechanical Engineering. But, I keep changing that to different engineering disciplines. I am hoping to build robotic prosthetics for a living.
My hobbies:
RC related (cars/drones)
computer programming, computer languages I code in the most are, Java(android), python, bash (more like scripting I guess), and C#.
I play video games, Watch dogs 2, Overwatch, Planetside 2, Team Fortress 2, Tom clancy's the division, minecraft (if I feel like running my private server), and Pokemon Go!(yes, people still play it)
Arduino projects
Raspberry pi projects.
I like to work on cars, and small engines (dirtbike, ATV), atm I am saving up to finance a 2012+ Volkswagen Golf GTI.
Magic card tricks (beginner)
I am currently working on a project, I picked up a RC car from thrift store, and goal is to control the RC using arduino, and control it from my phone (android) or on my PC using C#.
That project looks promising, my current soldering gun went out. Waiting on new one coming in.
I am not sure how often I will blog, and what to blog about. Once I get the ball rolling I will start getting a schedule going. Who knows!
Thanks for reading, and I am sorry if my blog was hard to follow.
Woot! Glad you decided to join us! :D
Now we've just gotta get you streaming! Lol
Yeah..... you are good influencer sykochica (am I correct ? :)) warm welcome andyadd. Nice !
Hehe...refusing to heal him in games until he joins goes a loooong way. Lol
(Totally kidding..I heal him, cause I like to win.)
sykochica you are right ! Sometimes steemit can cure gaming addicted, that true... for example ---> it is me. Now I give priority to steemit (gaming is my second priority) and try write , also spread good words in comment ! Nice ! :)
I absolutely agree with you. Steemit's replaced the majority of my gaming hours. lol
Hey @andyadd
Welcome to Steemit!
With your background and hobbies, I imagine that you will fit right in here :)
btw I am in the market for a soldiering iron but I had the hardest time trying to find a good one, all the reviews were terrible, how do you choose the one to buy?
The one I had was a cheap one from Radioshack that had fixed wattage, and it was old anyways, I watched some youtube videos. Hobbyists recommend getting soldering station with adjustable wattage. There was couple of brands they recommended, Weller, and Hakko are the two im looking at right now, I am leaning more towards weller and their model WLC100 vs their Hakko FX888D, reason being is WLC100 is about 40 dollars, while the hakko FX888D series are 100+.
Hopefully that is helpful!
That is very helpful,
I will take a look at the WLC100,
Thank You :)
Welcome onboard Andy!
