Sacred Fire
Hello Steem It!
This is my first blog post on here and I'm so ready to interact and join in with the Steem It community! I have an deep interest in mysticism, philosophy, Tao, tantra, magic, art, meditation, yoga, and many other internal, creative, and meditative arts. To me it is more about the meaning behind things and the practical application of them that I take interest in more so than the packaging or labeling that is put on or associated with things. This has put me into a category of interest that I consider relatively vast and I generally find it painstaking to attempt to narrow myself down into any particular category, so I rarely even try. I feel as though labels should be considered aspects of a thing rather than the thing in and of itself.
It's the real person or the real thing that is most important. Labels should be tools, not prisons. Take for example organized religion. This is an obvious example. Each and every religion has their own set of symbols that all mean something and generate their own sets of ideas, labels, and associations.
The more the symbol is taken to be the Way in and of itself rather than a symbol for the Way, the more it becomes settled in to one side of an illusory dual nature that can mean the difference between good and evil, life and death, salvation and damnation, etc. The highest virtue of these symbols is to serve as a gateway into an understanding of a deeper spiritual truth that they are meant to represent. If a symbol of divinity is enslaving you it's not doing its job. These should be used to enliven the mind and free the spirit.
The nature of who I am is one with the nature of the ever expanding cosmos. There is a consistency to it but simultaneously it is always shifting. I'm really no different from anyone else, but we are all unique. I don't wish to confine myself to rigid definitions, though I utilize definitions to describe myself and things. I don't feel that I have said much, but hopefully through my use of words I have conveyed to you some semblance of who I am.
Wellcome to family :)
