I have been a life long activist. My mother was a social worker, and taught us about the importance of speaking out when we see injustice done.

As young people, my sister, brother, and myself, were taught that we can take action to make the changes that we believe are needed. We were taught that it is up to each of us to be active in creating the sorts of meaningful changes that we believe the world is calling for. When many young people were playing sports, or going to camp I would be helping with a letter writing campaign or marching for farm worker's rights. When most young people were thinking of their first car, I was marching against the illegal war in Iraq and Kuwait. I was brought up for this time.

My IntroduceYourself post has been some time in coming. You see on The Zuckerberg Of DOOM I have a following. There are people over there who read my posts and watch my videos. They interact and click on that like button! As you can imagine this has kept my focus on creating content for that soul destroying platform.

The harm FascistBook has caused me mentally and emotionally are enormous. It's beyond doubt a detriment to my reality.

There was a time when I was putting out daily livefeeds, talking about pipelines, and protests. I also talked about economics and social justice issues where police are killing and raping. I talked about all sorts of topics which could make people uncomfortable, and educate. I was talking about thing that are considered radical and far out by many in the mainstream. Because of my topics and content a friend began to recommend Steemit to me. They would post about it in the comments of my posts. They would mention it over and over. Eventually I tuned them out. I didn't check this platform out, and I am sure that decision cost me. Eventually another friend who I had connected with in the time since Standing Rock began mentioning Steemit to me. They said they really enjoyed the platform and that it was very different from Facebook. After much convincing I created my first profile @tawasi.

I definitely plan to keep posting and interfacing with the Zuckerberg of Doom. I plan on posting more livestreams here on the Steem platform.

Creating content on the blockchain makes a lot of sense for the sort of speech I am into. Other platforms have been cracking down on free speech, removing content and erasing posts from activists. Those of us who were engaged in the popular movement known as Occupy Wall St may remember when Yahoo hid any emails we may have received which contained the word "occupy". It felt draconian then, now censorship has become more blatant. The developers are suggesting that they use this technology to stop bots and spammers from causing havoc on their platform, and to a certain extent that is bound to be true. The disturbing part has been the use of these technologies to black ball individuals. Rather than fight back against black balling and shadow banning, pay per view, and the myriad obstacles presented by the dominant media platforms it makes sense to invest my creative efforts in this fantastic community of global peoples.

The main intention of this profile is to create video content on @dlive. I intend to create regular videos about the rising pipeline resistances, the environment, politics, finance, and just about any topic which comes to mind.

In the past I have made videos of law enforcement goons attacking Standing Rock Water Protectors, marches and protests, concerts, speeches and lectures, I also have been able to catch all sorts of magical moments in nature. I hope to share these sorts of experiences through this profile.

It is my belief that each of us can make this world dramatically better, if that is our genuine desire. It is my belief that our collective will is for this better world. I like to think that there is a better way than our current fascist form of government in the USA. I prefer to think that the American dream can become approachable again, and that Another World Is Possible.
