The Question, a Rabbit Hole & a Book: Intro Blog by Kirk PhillipssteemCreated with Sketch.

I'm here to share stories for inspiration and peace of mind so other people get what they want. I've already been doing this a long time as a business advisor and de facto therapist. I help business owners eliminate Invisible Expenses™, the kind you don't know about that are killing your profits. We do this by leveraging technology with a twist of fun. My passion for technology went into overdrive when I heard about bitcoin in late 2013 early 2014.

The Rabbit Hole Question

A friend of mine asked, "Kirk, my husband and I want to invest $800 in a computer to mine bitcoin and make some money. What do you think?" to which I responded, "I don't know anything about Bitcoin, I'll have to get back to you." I went head first into the bitcoin rabbit hole and ended up writing my first book, The Ultimate Bitcoin Business Guide: For Entrepreneurs & Business Advisors and became a Certified Bitcoin Professional.

Evangelist

I'm still way down in the rabbit hole and it's a pretty cool place to be. I use, study and play with cryptocurrency everyday then turn my knowledge and experience into useful stuff. I created TheBitcoinCPA.com as the companion site to the book and the home of business resources for bitcoins, blockchains and all things crypto. I proclaimed myself a paperless office and cryptocurrency evangelist on LinkedIn.

1,000 Details

I universally transfer my woodworking skills into all I survey. Making a piece of finely crafted furniture requires 1,000 details all in the right order. You don't get an outstanding result without paying attention to each and every detail. Although I subscribe to the Pareto Principle, the 80/20 rule, this is an entirely different paradigm. I weave the 1,000 details approach into everything I create and contribute to others. It's a requirement for my commitment to inspire 1,000,000 entrepreneurs and business owners to have peace of mind in the process of fulfilling their vision and mission.

A Snapshot

I've been a CPA and business advisor for well over 15 years. Along the way I've worked in a Big 5 public accounting firm, a large regional CPA firm, private companies, started multiple businesses, developed real estate and experienced the entrepreneurial roller coaster ride. I'm also fortunate to gather infinite wisdom as a spectator in the entrepreneurial journey of my father, mother and both sets of grandparents since the age of 4. This collective wisdom is so valuable I have to share it with other like minded people.

Once Upon a Time

I helped turn a company around, searched for an outsourced accounting and bookkeeping solution to take over and couldn't find the right fit. Any one of them could have worked yet each one had some self-excluding caveat. After studying multiple solutions over several years, it became clear we were capable of creating what didn't exist.

In a parallel story, we hired 3 property managers for our small real estate portfolio and fired them all from incompetence. We were in the middle of self-managing something we didn't want to manage. (I'll spare the painful details even though it's a really good story) I was deep down in my soul asking, "how can we create a virtual property management system without the property manager?" Invzibiz.biz was born out of answering these questions.

Peace of Mind

I created The Ultimate Paperless Back Office™ by invizibiz.biz so startups and existing businesses alike finally have a peace of mind virtual accounting & bookkeeping solution. After years of interviewing business owners, I discovered a universal comment around dealing with accounting, finance, bookkeeping and all things back office. It goes like this, "I just don't want to deal with it." It makes complete sense because entrepreneurs should focus on business development not taking on something they aren’t good at and don't like to do.

Rollover

My cryptocurrency obsession extends my love of business technology. Business won't look anything like it does today in the next 10 to 20 years. I'm thankful for my front row seat in the New Renaissance and the time has come to start blogging about it. Kirk out.
