Well hi!

Hi, my name is Samantha.

I am totally new to Steemit and to be honest I only heard of it for the first time a couple months ago. My manfriend Michael, (@mdonahue21) who is my boyfriend, but I like to call him manfriend because he is a man and not a boy. I think that happens when you turn 30. He is a coder/web designer guru and suggested that Steemit would be a great way to explore a new online platform for my writing. I am first and foremost a writer, always have been, always will be. I am not a professional by any means, but I can’t imagine living this life without being able to put all my thoughts, ideas, and dreams down on paper. And in this case, it’s out into the universe of the internets.

I have this really great idea for a novel. For the last four years of my life, I have dedicated myself to learning everything I possibly can about approaching health and wellness from the most natural, holistic perspectives. By day, I am a licensed massage therapist. Never in my wildest dreams, would I have thought I would be rubbing naked bodies for a living, but I get to make other people feel better and that’s pretty cool.

I have spent the last four years working in a holistic health and wellness clinic in Florida. The woman who owns the place is a nutrition counselor and functional medicine practitioner. She is also the most self-absorbed, egotistical, power hungry, voodoo witch doctor I have ever met or ever will meet. Think of Meryl Streep in “The Devil wears Prada,” but a more hippie version, weird right!? Along with the boss lady, who is now in her seventies, I work with three other woman, the 81 year old southern bell from texas who I want to slap everyday, the 60 something feminist, who can drink more than anyone I know and is probably just as promiscuous and last, but not least the other 60 something year old, who after going to hell and back is still to this day the spitting image of Pollyanna.

I work in a place where crazy is just the introduction. I am excited to start writing about this story I have had in my head for years now and I think this is just the platform to do it. Like I said this will be a novel, fiction, and with that being said the names and locations will be changed to protect the identities that my characters are based on. And if I forgot to mention, there will be a love triangle as well, duh!
