How I made $100 with my Introduction post and You can too.

If you are trying to figure out how it is possible that some posts in the "introduceyourself" section reach astonishing figures, well, in this article I'll give you an explanation.

Yesterday thanks to AnonSteem I created a second account without having to wait years for the natural account registration process.

I've created a new account to share much more personal stuff that would make no sense to share here.

As first I wrote an introduction post, but this time, I came out of my shell of shyness and opened myself to the Steemit community.

This has paid me a lot. In fact, not only that post has reached $ 100, but I also received a lot of support in the comments. It was a great feeling.

Let's see which factors determined that post's success!

#1 The Title

It may sound absurd but in an introductory post (as with all other posts) the title is crucial.

The difference from the other articles is that in this, the simpler, the better.

This is how I titled mine. Trivial, yet powerful.

In the "introduceyourself" section, many whales are in search of future Steemian prodigies and well written worthy articles to reward. As they are expert users they won't fall for clickbaity titles so one rule: Keep It Simple.

#2 Provide Proof

A common practice that has become a non-written rule is to include a picture of yourself holding a sheet of paper written with your username and date. This will prove that you are not a bot and also give the user a small hint on who's writing the post.

This is me doing it:

#3 Openess

When it comes to writing on a social media platform with the potential of thousands of people reading your article, it can be difficult to expose yourself.

You do not have to overdo it.

I've always been a passive type on social networks. I just kept posting group pictures or writing status here and there, quite rarely.

On Steemit is all another story: While exposure remains high, people populating the platform have a very different attitude from people on reddit or facebook.

On steemit reigns peace, nobody offends anyone (also because it is likely to be flagged).
If you do not want to share your photos for privacy issues, it's totally understandable.

If you do not have any problem in doing so, I suggest you to include some of your photos that best represent your personality.
Readers like to understand who they are in front, put themselves in the writer's mind and try to figure out who you are. Pictures magicly create a strong emotional bond.

After that, start talking genuinely about yourself, what you like to do, what you don't like.
Storytelling is really important so you might want to include also a brief story of how you got on steemit.

Just talk about yourself, isn't that the purpose of the post?!

#4 Why are you on STEEMIT?

What are you doing on Steemit?
Are you here to blog, to share your poetry, art, music?
Are you here just for the money?
What the hell are you here for?

Again, be genuine. Do not make up anything.

By reading your intent on steemit and the value you will bring to the platform, readers will decide whether to follow you or not. It is a factor that plays an important role in readers' minds even when they have to decide whether to give you an upvote or resteem the post.

As said, be genuine, this does not have to make you think you should invent stuff.
What goes around, comes around, and lies are never good tools for success. You will be brought down eventually.

So, I hope this will help!

Here's my introduction post in case you want to check out how I structured it.

If you found this interesting and helpful please upvote and resteem.

Till next time, Love ya all.
~Steve
