Hello! I'm a filmmaker and photographer from California..
[IMG][/IMG]
GREETINGS EVERYONE!
I am very much into freedom, liberty and justice for all, but in the cool idealistic way not the way things are these days.
I love the idea of Steemit, I don't know much but it seems like this is the new Reddit/Facebook (which is funny because both are ways to create an account)
I really enjoy photography. I post usually once a day on Instagram. You can see my work via http://www.instagram.com/jonathanmariande
I also post frequently on youtube. Currently my newest adventure in creative videos is a series called Minute Monologues with Mariande. bit.ly/MariandeYoutube
The goal with it is to create and inspire. I work in production to earn a living but I'd rather make free content and give it away. Especially the stuff of substance!
I look forward to discovering other artists, photographers, writers, journalists, videographers, filmmakers, lovers, conspirators, adventurers... I'm down for it all!
Stop in and say hello, share your interests and lets be friends! I hang out in the comments!!
@mariande, I'm not an artist but I created a cartoon called "Minnow's Life" for the minnows on steemit . I will follow you.
My advice to you is to find all the subjects you like and then comment on as many posts as you can. Its going to take a few weeks of this to build some loyal followers. Be sure to be loyal to those users and they will return the favor. Best wishes.
THANK YOU. That's great advice. I hope I didn't post to much my first hour but I got excited and carried away. On Instagram and Youtube and what not I usually lurk more than post. That is if posting once a day is not a lot! :)
The rule is, if you post more then 4 times a day you'll get no rewards for your posts. However some people choose to post a lot for the reason to get noticed quickly.
That's not the rule. After 4 posts your rewards on subsequent posts are gradually reduced along a curve.
Thanks for explaining
Copy! It won't happen again.
Question, is this a rule in the architect's design of the platform or is it just a general rule of thumb among users?
@mariande, When I first started, I wanted to post every few hours. Lol. I've heard you should do no more than 4 posts a day. Don't know a lot about the internals of steemit. I can tell you, that I'm addicted to it. I so enjoy meeting new users like yourself. You will do well if you start commenting like crazy and be loyal to the same users. Its not hard because if you like the original content of a user, you will want to return to read their newest post. Be clever with your comments and look at it as a part time job that doesn't pay. You're now a steemit intern.
Great tip! I'm not very witty, so I'll probably say less! But it doesn't sound like that hurts. :)

I love it.
Sounds awesome! Welcome to Steemit! Gotta say, I admire anyone who works in film and can create something visual and tangible; I'm about only good with words, so I gotta stick to text, despite the fact my stories play like movies in my head lol
Upvoted, resteemed, and following you. Where in California are you from? I grew up in Irvine.
Los Angeles! East side.
Nice! It's cool to find someone who grew up in roughly the same area as me. Granted, OC is a completely different world than LA, but it's another galaxy compared to where I live down here in Alabama. Welcome to Steemit!
Thank you!
Welcome. Upvoted. My blog will help u.

Thank you. This was helpful. I believe I left you a message on your post too. :)
Hello! Welcome to Steemit.
In order to prevent identity theft, identity deception of all types, and content theft we like to encourage users that have an online identity, post for a website or blog, are creators of art and celebrities of all notoriety to verify themselves. Verified users tend to receive a better reception from the community.
All you need to do is send out a tweet that you're now on Steemit. That's all!
Thank you!
@steemcleaners
Awesome. Doing it right now...
Should I address that tweet to @steemcleaners ?
Ah, no, just leave a link to the tweet here. :) Thanks.
