An Introduction...

I was born in the southern most city on the South Island of New Zealand. I was 2 years old when Nixon/Kissinger did their Petrodollar pact with Saudi Arabia that has subsequently taken the world on an economic ride towards insane debt - according to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, NZ households have a debt to income ratio of 177% - the highest it's ever been.

Of course NZ is not alone - this wondrous feat is reflected in many so-called developed nations...for instance it's recently been reported that our neighbour Australia has a debt to income ratio of 190% - as such they've just been downgraded by Moody's. Property prices are ridiculously high in both Australia and New Zealand, fuelled by record low interest rates. My prediction, along with many others, is that this will all end in tears - i.e. many people being booted out of the homes once they default on mortgage payments.

I've was living in London for 13 years until last August. Life was, until recently, very good. I had a good job, great friends, etc. But I could see that the European economies were looking very unstable so I decided it was time to move back to my homeland...and I'm loving being back in New Zealand.

I'm anticipating (like many others) that there will be a lot of economic pain ahead.
