#Introduction
Hello everyone. My life long friend @sykochica got me interested in Steemit so here I am. I was born and raised in St. Louis and now reside near Springfield, MO. I'm a stay-at-home dad to my son Ayden who was born with Down Syndrome. He'll be 10 this year and will be attending the 4th grade. He is my life.
I moved from St. Louis in 2005 to get away from the life I had been living. Without going into too many details, drugs were an issue. I didn't like the person I'd become and thought it was time for a change. So I packed a bag and drove 3 hours away from everything I've ever known and loved to start a new life. After a few months here I met a girl that became my wife and in 2007 we got married and had Ayden. Life has been good since then. I am on several boards of non-profit organizations that help people with disabilities.
When I moved in 2005 I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do. But just last year it finally hit me. I want to help people that can't help themselves. @sykochica helped me when I needed it in high school and I've never forgot it. Now I want to repay the good deed by helping others.
Well Steemit world, that's me in a nutshell. A 39 year old stay-at-home dad that wants to help people that need it.
My posts will be personal. Things I wouldn't tell others, I'll share here.
Peace!
Hell yea!! So stoked to see you on here buddy! It's been too long since we've gotten to hang out.
You TOTALLY need to post up that video of Ayden realizing he was at the Seasame Street show! :D

Welcome! New here myself. Brought on by miss @sykochica as well. (That's the 2nd thing we have in common) I also grew up in St. Louis (#3), and moved to Springfield (#4) in 2006. Just one year later than you. Lol. Springfield is where I met our mutual friend. I will be following you and can't wait to hear stories of your mission to help others! Happy posting.
