Peaceful Living – God’s Word Today & Thoughts to Ponder

 God’s Word Today:

James 3:18 NCV

People who work for peace in a peaceful way plant a good crop of right-living.

Thoughts to Ponder:

There are times that our human nature gets the best of us. When seemingly threatened by people or circumstance and feeling that our backs are up against the wall we push back with much aggression.

Being able to work through these difficult people and circumstances would still require patience, understanding to be at peace.

Attaining peace (not only for ourselves but for all those around us) in a peaceful way will lead to planting goodness somewhere that would flourish to the right kind of living.

Yes, we’re constantly pressured by this world. It’s pushing us to lose it and be savage to those who are seemingly against us.

Our text today, reminds us to still control our ways.

Now, if we think we’re about to explode like a deeply disturbed volcano…let us remember why we’re called Christians. Let us ask for more patience and understanding from our Lord.

We can be assured He’ll give us the capacity to smile instead of sneering, to speak gently instead of shouting and to touch deeply instead of ignoring.

Peaceful living can only come from God’s guidance.

Dear Father,

Help us in our daily grind to draw strength from You to overcome the world’s pressures to distract us in being a real Christian.

Show us Your peace, patience, kindness and love that we might reflect it to others and even to the most difficult to deal with.

Thank you for this reminder.
