Yes we have flaws. Yes we make mistakes. Yes, we get lost and skid off the road form time to time. But if one doesn't take note of his bearings, how will he ever get back on track?
To get anywhere in life, both literally and figuratively, constant course corrections will have to be made. This means constantly checking that life, to ensure it doesn't stray away from the desired path to that goal. What kind of life would one live without any sort of goal?
Examining, of course, doesn't always translate into action. But it does reveal that action should be taken, and that is one step better than he who doesn't realise anything is wrong. This is true for the individual, for society, for nations, and for the entire global community.
