That thing called "depression"
Frankly speaking, depression is common and I would say it could be normal (but not in all cases though) You know, some cases of depression require the attention of a doctor, some seriously depressed people even use certain medical therapies to manage their depression coupled with certain drugs!

Now, I'm talking of the 'average kind of depression.' Permit me to put it that way, I mean the feeling that comes to your mind sometimes especially when you're idle. It could be when you're stressed out, when you're working so hard on something and you've not started seeing any good results, when you sometimes feel abandoned by the ones you thought loved you, when you just feel like things around you are kinda messed up! Yeah, all these regular feelings result in what I tag as 'the average depression.'
Permit me to put it that way, But I'm very sure you understand what I mean? 😉
And back to what I was discussing, it happens sometimes to me and probably happens to you too (if you wanna be sincere with yourself). So the actual purpose of this post Is to share with y'all how I deal with this average depression thing, which you might wanna consider😊
Depression often comes with negative feelings about yourself or what goes on around you. So what I do when it realize I shouldn't let that bad feeling overwhelm me is that I think about the good sides of life - and of my life, I consider my achievements no matter how small they might be, I realize that there are many people out there who don't have what I have. And then I smile & get up. I'm over it!
I get to work. I have gotten to realize that idleness gets you overthinking and would eventually leave you depressed. What I do is that no matter how tired I am, I get up from wherever I am sitting or laying and get involved in an activity I enjoy. Most times I enjoy surfing the internet, sometimes I write, i log on to my blog and do something, or for more fun: I read short interesting stories, watch comes online, plugin my earpiece and dance, any random thing that'll take my time and take my mind off over- thinking.
I reach out to close friends & fam - just to gist, talk & take my time. Loneliness can cause depression, so many times I love having someone keep my company, physically or online.
I hope this helps someone. These are some good tips to avoiding depression. It works a lot for me, and can work for you too.
For the very serious cases of depression (like getting feelings of commiting suicide or feeling extremely miserable & hopeless), please visit a counsellor or better still a doctor. It can happen to anyone though, but still please take it seriously cos its your life.
By the way, I have an article on my personal blog about everything you need to know about depression: Symptoms, causes, types and how to overcome it, please feel free to check it out 😊 https://www.girliefix.com/2018/09/depression-symptoms-causes-types-treatment.html
