ARE LEADERS MEANT TO BE AT THE FORE ALWAYS?
We may pictorially see a leader as the one always at the fore. We may see a scenario of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt to the promised land. By definition, we could say a leader is one who can influence, direct, mentor, coordinate or manage his followers/subjects while enjoying consented power.
This evening as I walked down with my heart throb, I saw a mother heading to her house with her child of about 2-3 Years right behind us struggling to catch up with her mother who was well ahead of us. I paused to think, "could this also be leadership?". This child could be easily kidnapped or harmed without the mother noticing .I called her attention to this misconduct, she trivialised it but thanking me. I now asked myself, "Must our leaders be at the fore all the time to judiciously play their roles as leaders? ". My answer to that is NO.
Leaders may sometimes, as situation demands, stay behind or beside the subjects as to control, direct, guide, guard, and mentor them aright. This is the lesson I drew from the evening's walk.
