爱上吸血鬼的女法医(连载小说)第2章
At first sight, Vivi is always a stunner. Her beauty is different, a difference that stems from her mixed heritage, a unique blend of East and West. Her father was a Chinese immigrant to the United States, a typical oriental man, while her mother was a blonde, brown-eyed American. Such an exotic relationship gave birth to her, endowing her with fair skin, long dark hair, deep dark brown eyes, and a delicate and refined face that perfectly blends the classical elegance of the East with the three-dimensionality of the West.
Born and educated in California, Vivi holds an M.D. from Northwestern University, is a criminal anthropologist with the North Carolina Medical Examiner's Office, and is a full member of the American Society for Criminal Identification. There are only fifteen forensic pathologists nationwide in the United States who can pass a criminal anthropology examination, and Vivi is not only the youngest of them, but also recognized as one of the most beautiful. She has made a name for herself in the field of forensic science, and her calm, disciplined approach has quickly made her a leader among her peers.
However, despite her excellent education and respectable professional background, Vivi's personal life is full of ups and downs. For not only is she an iceberg beauty with a cool exterior, she is also a bit of an anomaly due to the nature of her work. Forensic scientists-especially those like her who specialize in autopsies-are often teetering on the edge of life and death, making her seemingly at odds with a normal social life.
Men who go on a first date with her are often so mesmerized by her beauty that they can't wait to pursue her. But once the date gets into a deeper conversation, things start to get tricky. For example, their conversation might unfold as follows:
"Sorry I'm late, been waiting long?" The man inquired with a smile, trying to remove the strangeness between the two with gentle words.
"Fine." Vivi replied, still looking cold.
The man tentatively continued, "What's wrong? What's on your mind?"
Vivi's deep eyes lit up slightly, but her answer was surprising, "Thinking about death."
The man froze for a moment, a smile on his face, but inwardly he thought, this surface cold woman also has such a "warm" side, so he said in a heartbeat: "Only two days have not met, so miss me?"
"No, I was thinking of dead people." Vivi corrected unabashedly.
"Huh?" The man's expression froze.
"There was a homicide yesterday, and the victim died in a very unusual manner." She continued with an expressionless face, "Most of the internal organs were exposed outside the body."
The man's eyes had gotten a little misty as he tried to find the rhythm of the conversation, but Vivi's description was unforgiving, "On the surface, the cause of death seems to be due to a drunken-driving collision, but I suspect something else because of the peculiar way in which the internal organs were exposed."
"Uh ...... is it?" The man sweats and tries unsuccessfully to change the subject.
"It's as if someone cut open his abdomen and pulled out his internal organs before impact." Vivi continued lightly, "Like his liver was ruptured, his kidneys were blackened, and there were intestines dragging right under the seat. I did the serology before dinner today, and I have to rush back afterward for hair, semen, and dental identification. By the way, what's for dinner? How about a steak? This restaurant is famous for its sirloin steaks, I'll have the sirloin medium rare, how about you?"
Like it and keep sending it.
