BMW is shifting its focus on hydrogen gas

BMW is shifting its focus to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, considering them a significant player in the future of automobile transportation.

While electric vehicles (EVs) have been the primary focus for zero-emission car manufacturers, hydrogen vehicles, utilizing fuel cells emitting only water vapor, are gaining attention for their sustainability.

BMW CEO Oliver Zipse stated that hydrogen engines would play a crucial role globally in the long run and aims to deliver these cars by 2025.

The BMW iX5 Hydrogen is expected to debut in 2024, offering features like rapid refueling, consistent driving range, and comparable performance to EVs.
