This is only the beginning...

It is wonderful having options! Life would seem like much more drudgery, otherwise! But, there comes a time when too many options can become dizzying, and yet our options on the Steem blockchain are only really beginning for this slightly-over-three year-old platform.

First, we had the issue with "too many discords, too little time" and we had to drop out of some Discords because there just wan't enough time in our lives (and brains) for all the different communities. Now, communities are not only launching new Discord servers all the time, but now they are launching their own front-ends and websites, too.

The first of these was http://www.thealliance.io which I thought was very cool since I have been a member of @thealliance for a over a year. Then along came another cool one: https://www.theinnerblocks.com, and then https://www.palnet.io launched, which seems to have triggered https://mediaofficials.io, https://www.steemleo.com, and now https://www.creativecoin.xyz. It is difficult to keep up with which domains are .IO, which are .COM, and which are .XYZ, but the sheer number of options are now beginning to exceed the capacity of my concentration.

Furthermore, with only FIVE hashtags possible in posts, it is now impossible for many of us to include the communities and side-chains to which we belong. I deem the first hashtag relevant to content, and often use the other four for community-tags. But now there is definitely no way to include all relevant communities on each post.

Yet, I am sure it is only just the beginning of all the front-end launches with their own corresponding Discord communities and tokens. Wowzers. Growth. Options. Craziness. And my brain is already full... LOL

I have been thinking exactly the same thing! I have started thinking if Steem almost like a giant shopping mall. You have your favorite stores and hangouts but you certainly don’t attempt to shop at all of them. 😁

Also, https://MediaOfficials.io supports up to 10 tags and will be adding support for 50 tags in the next week. Of course, we will provide a dropdown and only display the first 5 tags.

This allows for content to propagate to tags/sites specified and not be all cluttered at the bottom of your posts.

Mediaofficials was planned since 2017, but the lack of SMT's stopped them from moving forward. RocketEX has helped them start to move into the ecosystem and is in talks with many new applications as well.

It's not exactly a tribe either as people are calling it since you can't really call 1300 websites a tribe that's on a whole other scale. Since there sort of on a different level than the rest of the projects. It has some serious backers and partnerships like no other projects have or likely will have for a while.

Also pretty sure they plan to add like 20-50 tags soon.

hmmm... You've just given me a thought: 🤔 I wonder if there is a way that a kickass interface like @steempeak might be tweaked to work with @mediaofficials, since it is a side-chain to the Steem blockchain...? To be honest, @steempeak has so many fantastic features that I honestly cringe a little when I have to go back, briefly, to a more Condenseresque interface.

@asgarth is this something that the @steempeak team might consider, or not? ... to enable usage on side-chains? or would that be too much of a trip down a rabbit hole of a coding nightmare?

It's is just the start and I think it will bring more value to steem and even bring tokens that may be more valuable into being!!
As already was mentioned a lot of those other front end sites allow 10 tags even though they say 5. Try it.

I still value categorizing over tokens, so although you can use 10 tags when using one of the Scot-tribe sites, as long as they don't allow you to choose which tags come first (only the 5 first tags are recognized by the original steemit interfaces), I'm gonna stick to 5 tags, of which 4 will be used to categorize.

I'm completely OD'ing on all the new possibilities. If I don't want to end up with a burn out by the end of the week, I need to go back to the basics...
