I am in Kent in the UK and have just now got wifi. I'm sharing a 2016 #inktober
An old witch with her familiars
Having had an arduous two day leg of travel, I am up and having my tea whilst my travel mates breakfast. We are about to head out house hunting today. I had considred a new ink for today, but my digital drawing tablet is still in my suitcase and I'm exhausted from our long trip. We had rented a car and we had to pick up a dog we brought with us from the USA so that was an adventure.
We flew into Gatwick (I always use Heathrow) and we didn't know where anything was, so we had an adventure carting our luggage about the airport like hobos, until we found our rental car agency. I won't bore with the details now (though I may later on) as I have to get ready to head out.
I hope all are having a lovely day and I will get back to you with comments and upvotes and rambling nothingness soon enough. We have alloted ourselves one week to let a house, so we shall see. And as we have only fixed our county (Kent) but not our district, we are doing a rather wide search, in Canterbury, Tunbridge Wells, etc. It shall be an advetnure.
Luckily one of my party is a dyed in the wool Englishman, but he has lived most of his past years in the US so he has to remind himself to drive on the 'correct' side. An example was our barreling down the high hedges narrow streeted lanes of the countryside in a far too large car last night when I shouted "Correct side Correct side" as he began barreling down the right, to a slew of honks, but it just resulted in a peal of laughter and onward we went.
I shall close here and hope for a new ink soon.
And check out my other #inktober posts thus far (I know it's getting long, but I like keeping them together):
A quick ink today for #inktober as I am enroute today to the UK

More lovely inks. Love them all. And for heaven's sake, 'stay on the correct side of the chipseal'! Maybe they only call it that in NZ, I don't really know. I've asked you this before, but are you permanently moving back, or house hunting just for a place to stay. Maybe you've discussed this in posts, but I'm so far 'out' that I'm coming back 'in' again on here. One day things shall return. Well, enjoy your days, is the tea better there, in the land of real tea? Just curious, since all I drink is pretty much boring water. Anyways, I've digressed here into about as low as I can go. Talking about water. Cheers and have a good time wandering about. I loved your hobo in the airport reference. Toodles.
PS. I just saw the Boom's response and yours. So maybe that first question is moot. But I'm not going to re-type it, as I gotta go get a roof fixed before the rains. H.L.O.F.A.E.L.O.F.A.C. for me.
(Have Lots Of Fun And Eat Lots Of Fish And Chips)
Oh it is so good to hear from you @ddschteinn, I am too, horribly behind.
My ideal would be to live all year round in the UK to me it is truly home and I always feel the most 'in my element' here, but no the plan is 6 here 6 usa. I am lucky in my friends who can live year round so we are getting a place together to which I will come and go annually.
The tea IS better and stronger and well even though I must admit the Cape does a decent Fish and chips, they can't touch a British chip shop and I love MUSHY peas, which for some reason never made it over the Atlantic with the fish and chips and who knows whey we (Americans) kept calling 'fries' chips but ONLY when they are with fish. But, I love the comparrison of New England and Old England English, it's fascinating.
I also drink much boring water as well. Today for my luncheon out we went Italian so I had the best cappuccino, and a wonderful onion soup made with almonds, not very British, but very wonderful.
Once settled I'm sure I'll bore you all with peppered English anecdotes, so hold onto your hat for those.
Oh and the airport was hilarious, well now it's hilarious, at the time we honestly began to feel we were on 'candid camera' as we had to push our luggage all round the airport, we'd ask for the rental area and someone would say round the corner and then next corner another person would say round the corner, then we ended up at the trams to get from the North to South terminal and it began again, until filly the right 'corner' resulted in our rental, which was a far too large Van that is determined to clip every sensibly sized car in the sensible countryside lanes round Kent.
From your post I was not really aware of why and what happening in the Kingdoms. But I was right in expecting a novel-sized comment with more details!
I look forwards and in all directions to some more anecdotes I have not heard to date. I'm sure there will be a passleload. Your airport adventure sounds like a hoot, as you say, a day or two later. At the time, nothing but a pain in the petoot. Traveling is so fun, and can be a real hair puller too. Well, hope this finds you finding a house and happy and full of tea and scones in Merry England.
good luck with you house hunt! Are you considering to live in England?
Just part of the year. I love England and it's been my goal to get a place here. I like to come over every year, so it's pretty exciting.
Good luck with you house
Hunt! Are you considering
To live in England?
