Creative Photography: Infra Red Photography (IR)
Infra Red Photography
Shooting infra-red images require a special piece of equipment called an IR filter. This filter, as you may have guessed, only allows infra-red light to enter the camera lens. The down-side to this is all long exposures need to be used in order to get enough light in to expose properly.
Once the image is in Post, a few tweaks need to be applied to flip the colour scheme to a more pleasing arrangement.
The final results you can see below. This is an image of a bandstand in my local park on a busy summer Saturday afternoon. The blurs you can see are people moving around!
