Society Is Engineered To Kill You
Regardless of what side of the alternative news spectrum you sit on, whether you believe vaccinations cause autism or the government is spraying us with chemical cocktails from the sky, one thing that people need to realise is that society is engineered to kill you.
Pharmaceutical companies don't need to poison you with vaccinations and governments do not have to spray you using planes (that sounds like a lot of hard work anyway) to harm you. Everything you eat, the air you breathe, even the air conditioning in your homes, offices and public spaces is toxic.

Step outside and you're subjected to a barrage of toxic contaminants from exhaust emissions, companies releasing a cocktail of toxic byproducts from manufacturing plastics and other pollutants so you can own the latest electronic gadget or engineered food craze.
You can go vegan, you can move to the country and only eat organic foods, it'll be a small improvement but you cannot change environmental factors. No matter what you do, you cannot escape the toxicity of modern society.
Your beloved smartphone is damaging your joints, your cushy office job is causing you long-term damage (RSI's, back problems) and sitting for extended periods of time (which humans were not designed to do) is causing muscle deterioration and circulation issues putting a strain on vital organs in your body.
We go home and find sanctity in our own homes, but the insulation in your roof is toxic (most modern common insulation contains fibreglass and breathing that it is bad), if you have an older house you're potentially breathing in asbestos and or absorbing toxic lead paint.
Food, the silent killer
There are three things that human beings cannot live without; food, water and oxygen. The one thing we especially cannot live without is food, depending on what part of the world you live in (you are reading this on the internet, so you can probably afford to eat) your access to food will vary.
It is a well-stated fact that the global population continues to increase, and current farming and agricultural practices cannot meet the demand. This has led the race for genetically modified crops and artificially grown lab meats, thanks to advancements like CRISPR, we are getting close to a future where we can grow anything, anywhere and in any kind of pre-developed conditions.
Advancements are moving faster than we can safely observe over a long period of time. This means we'll be eating CRISPR foods in the next five years, we're already consuming large amounts of genetically modified wheat and soy (thanks Monsanto) and the research just isn't there.
With convenience comes sacrifice. Much like deciding to go to McDonald's than cook your own dinner, it's all about convenience. Like untested pharmaceutical drugs rushed through thanks to lobbyist efforts and falsified reports on their safety, we're entering a new era of human guinea pigs for genetically modified foods on a scale never seen before.
Go Against Society
It's impossible to rid yourself of contaminants completely, but you can limit your exposure somewhat to societal toxicity using these few bits of advice:
- Eat organic food and read the labels. Sometimes an organic product isn't properly certified or contains something questionable. You can have toxic organic ingredients in organic food still, herbicides and pesticides are not the only things to be concerned about.
- Learn to grow your own food. Perhaps the biggest improvement you can make is by growing your own fruits and vegetables, learn how to properly balance the pH in your soil, how to naturally mitigate pests and diseases and your body will thank you.
- Learn to forage. There is a trove of nutritious and delicious wild fruits, herbs, mosses and berries around. Head to a bookstore and learn about the free food growing in the wild, how to identify it, how to prepare it and how to eat it.
- Be active. Going back to cavemen days, humans were always active. We have muscles for a reason and if we don't exercise, it deteriorates. An active body consumes what you put into it and doesn't waste much.
- Get out of the city. Living in a toxic metropolitan area with exhaust emissions is not good for your lungs and you're building up a cocktail of deadly chemicals in your body, heavy metals and other dangerous substances. Get to the beach, out to the country and experience real air every so often.
- Disconnect. We are all admittedly self-diagnosed technology addicts, some of us manage better than others, but it's imperative you set some boundaries and give your eyes and brain a rest. We are overloaded with stimuli on a daily basis, turn your phone off when you get home from work, don't turn the TV on and have a conversation with your loved ones, read a book or go for a walk.
- Use natural fluoride free toothpaste. This is a huge one and I cannot stress it enough, sodium fluoride is poison and many studies have confirmed it can have disastrous effects on the body. It's a myth that you need florrirde to keep your teeth healthy, you do not.
- Avoid meat or be selective. Some of us love meat and it's easier said than done to say quit meat and go vegan, it's not easy. Cut down your meat intake, as many types of meat are pumped with salt and preservatives which are carcinogenic. Avoid deli meats like ham and salami as well, they're the worse. If you want to eat meat, try only eating it once or twice per week, buy organic/free range cuts of meat and understand where it came from.
- Avoid deodorant and roll-ons. If you knew what they put into deodorant (spray and roll on) you would be sickened. Most contain aluminium-based compounds and they block the sweat ducts, and your body absorbs them as well as parabens and other nasty additives.
- Avoid government recommendations for health and food. Governments love to pretend to want a healthy society, but when you're taking money from corporations poisoning the world and damaging the environment, and making our food toxic and dangerous, can you really trust their advice? Do your own research.
We all will die eventually. I think it's more a matter of preferences: whether you prefer living an easier and more enjoyable life, or to care about your health and limit yourself in many things. But I agree with the approach and admire people who are able to live this way. Hopefully, one day I will find enough willpower to follow all points in your list :)
