The official name of the Corona Virus is now COVID-19.
No more need to debate on what the name of the WUHAN virus is officially now. I was right that the virus did not have a proper name until now. Now we know the correct official name for the virus. Wu-Flu is still the best name though.
COVID-19 name is directly from the WHO and CDC. So yeah, to anyone who thought corona virus was the proper name for the virus. You were wrong.
:)
I got on Steemit just to share this with you LOL
Yeah.. I was on /pol/ when this meme was ALMOST born.
Here is the problem, Raccoon has two Cs in the name.
Almost the most epic meme ever.
HA! SO TRUE!!!
I thought the name was the 2019 Novel Corona Virus, right, or is that like an informal name?
Its official name is COVID-19 as of yesterday. Corona virus was never its actual name. Its the type of virus.
Specific Name:
Castle, I didn't say Corona Virus. I said the "2019 Novel Corona Virus, AKA the 2019-nCoV." They call or called it the 2019-nCoV acute respiratory disease.
New Name
Wikipedia says, right now, "Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), also known as 2019-nCoV acute respiratory disease (2019-nCoV ARD), and novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP), is a viral respiratory disease caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). It was first detected during the 2019–20 Wuhan coronavirus outbreak." So, you are right that it has the official name for this particular corona virus is COVID-19 like you said. Yes, there has many types of corona viruses and the human-based versions were first noticed back in like the 1960's and the animal-based ones goes back a few more decades it seems. So, yeah, you're right that there have been many types of corona viruses. But I was simply talking about the 2019-nCoV which appears to be either the parent version or an alternative name for what is now or has been called officially or specifically the COVID-19. I was trying to be specific in what I was talking about.
Oh yeah my mistake. I also thought that 2019-nCoV was the official name. Not sure why they changed it though.
I wonder if CO-VID is short for Corona Virus Disease.
That's what I thought but that would be strange as I am thinking that a disease and a virus are classically different types of illness.
i agree
why is this is caps?
Emphasis.
Also you fucked that sentence up kinda. lol
Reminds me of that time you thought the virus had an official name and tried to correct me.
oops, I made a typo. wow, ya got me.
Reminds me of that time where you barely were able to speak english in almost every single reply to me.
Also, at the time, it was called the coronavirus, context is key.
LMAO
And in the thread it was called Wuhan virus as per the creator of the original meme, context is key. Also, up until now it had no official name so you 100% fucked up by saying the original creator of the meme was wrong. The original creator of that image is a Chinese person who lives in Wuhan.
Good job correcting the random Chinese person long before the virus had an official name though.
LOL
lmao, 4chan has taken over your entire life bud.
That is the truth, the original memes came from people in Wuhan china after the first wave of crackdowns. You can seethe all you want but you are still wrong LMAO
memes!!! look at the memes!!
