News Link - Explosive possessed by Stephen Paddock may have been used in NYC bombing
An explosive compound like the one found in Las Vegas mass shooter Stephen Paddock’s car and home is believed to have been used last year in an alleged terrorist bombing in New York City.
Authorities say they recovered an undisclosed amount of the compound known as Tannerite from Paddock’s home in Mesquite and 50 pounds from his car parked at Mandalay Bay, where he used high-powered firearms to mow down concertgoers at the adjacent Route 91 Harvest festival on Sunday.

But let's not jump to conclusions, here. The article states that Paddock's explosives were like the one used in the NYC terror attack, not that they were from the same batch.
Taggants can be used to trace the origin of an explosive substance
These have been considered for introduction in industrial explosives so that the manufacturer and batch number can be determined if they are used illegally. The taggant must survive the detonation of the product and not be contaminated by the environment afterwards. Several different technologies have been considered, but the most common are microscopic polymer/metallic particles. Taggant evidence was crucial in the 1980 conviction of James L. McFillin in Maryland for the truck bombing murder of Nathan A. Allen, Sr
So, the question: Is there a common source of manufacture between the jihadist bombing in NYC, and Paddock's stockpile of Tannerite?
If so, are the from the same time of manufacture?

thnaks for picking up the slack - I'm trying to fix some links in the last OSINT thread, and I can't get the new shooting video uploaded on dtube
I was having a similar issue. I sometimes cannot upload things to dtube. It lets me upload it, shows it goes from 0% uploaded to 100%, then when I click submit it says "upload a video first".
I tried it a few other times and got it to work hours later though. Not sure if it was a Steem problem or a dtube problem?
I haven't spent any time to troubleshoot it. there is a help wiki for dtube, but I cant find the URL right now
think it's a dtube issue (formatting) fwiw
No problem
Tannerite is the brand name of a patented[1] exploding target used for firearms practice, sold in kit form and containing the components of a binary explosive.[2] The explosive comprises a combination of ammonium nitrate and/or ammonium perchlorate (oxidizers), and a fuel - primarily aluminum powder - that is supplied as two separate powders that are mixed by the user. The combination is relatively stable when subjected to forces less severe than a high-velocity bullet impact, such as a hammer blow, being dropped, or impact from a low-velocity bullet or shotgun blast.[1] It is also not flammable – an explosion cannot be created by a burning fuse or electricity.[3] Because it is sold as two separate powders, it can be transported and sold in many places without the legal restrictions that would otherwise apply to explosives.[4] The target system as a whole is the patented, trademarked product called Tannerite, although the term is often used to refer to the explosive mixture itself, and other combination explosives are often generically referred to as Tannerite.[4]
