The Power of a Good Story
"The Power of a Good Story"
With the rise of social media, many people use various social media outlets to express their opinions on anything and everything they think of.
Usually, when someone shares these stories on social media, even when it's done only through text, it's often told with a burst of emotion, passion amd exaggeration. Think social media status with an excessive amount of exclamation points, capital letters, and of course, emotions. We can't help it -- Whether in a few words or entire paragraphs, we just love telling a good story.
People are great at quite a few things. But in Christian, they called to be Story-Tellers. Our faith revolves around a story-the Greatest Story ever Told. I have a story to tell, a story about a leper, who begged Jesus to heal him. Although Christ had told the leper to keep quiet about thr whole incident, the leper did the exacr opposire and publicized his healing. Many of us are "lepers" who have been healed. We come with oit own afflictions and our own conversion stories. But we are also lepers who testify to Christ's healing love, Do our words and actions constantly tell the story of a humble soul, who needed a healing touch and was made clean? What story are we going to tell today?
Let the story of our lives lead back to the Greatest Story Ever Told, for that is the story that deserves to be told over and over again, with as much zeal and enthusiasm as our first date, our marriage, or even what we had for lunch today.
