Capitalism – vs – Socialism

Socialism is the Propagandist's new dog whistle. It is used to charge up the political bases of both parties.
The Democrats like Socialism because they think they can win at the voting booth by offering free stuff to voters.
And, the Republicans are taught to hate Socialism because they think they are winning with Capitalism.
Neither is correct… Democrats may win in the short run, but eventually the reality that their programs are unsustainable will hit the Nation hard.
The Republicans are also wrong, as wealth inequality will eventually become such a malignancy that the Mob will tear down the institutions and target the individuals that benefit from obscene wealth at the expense of those who suffer from having little to nothing.
Both the Democrats and Republicans think they can win points against the other by opposing Socialism/Capitalism, and yet neither is supporting the true forms of these government systems.
Capitalism as we know it today is not pure, not if the Government funds education, emergency services and public works from a general fund that is supported by all taxpayers… including bailing out banks that are too big to fail. And, the Socialism supported by Democrats is not a pure form of socialism, but some kind of bastardization of capitalism and socialism.
The Democrats are seemingly not dumb enough to discuss the elimination of Capitalism, not when their donors rely on it to amass their wealth, which they use to buy all politicians. And, Republicans are not dumb enough to cut social programs that voters rely on.
The problem with both systems is that corruption is a major factor in Capitalism and Socialism. There are far more examples of corrupt capitalist, and socialist societies, than there are of examples that have equal opportunity for all.
The difficulty in those corrupt societies is that individuals in Governments benefit from picking winners and losers, in both systems. That is true of politicians of Capitalist or Socialist governments. The current successful examples of both systems are still relatively young. As time passes corrupt individuals will always work themselves into positions of power, and they will corrupt which ever system they control.
Ultimately, whether a society utilizes a capitalist, or socialist system is not as important then as if those systems are free from corruption.
Don't let the Propagandist's dog whistle distract you from the real problem of a corrupt government system...
Corruption is the problem that should be eliminated, as no society can survive long term corruption.
