RE: It isn't just Alabama, we have a problem.
I moved to Vietnam in 2012 and I enjoyed teaching English, mostly in Saigon. I love Asia. I think about living out there somewhere for the rest of my life. I love rice.
There’s certainly no shortage of rice and noodles over here. I’ve been all over SE Asia and believe Malaysia to be the best fit for me, for many reasons. English is spoken fluently in all the populated areas but with a degree it’s possible to teach language here still.
You should definitely look into Malaysia it’s more than hospitable for westerners, Singapore and Seoul even more so but they’re both nearly as expensive as living in Portland or any major us city.
You can just show up in Malaysia and get a 90 day social visit visa as well. I wrestle with the notion of going stateside to earn some usd but I’d rather be poor here than hassle with the hustle over there, for now anyway, some days test my fortitude.
You’re still in Oregon ?

How many Muslims are there in Malaysia? I was in Vietnam, 2012-2017, for five years. I'm now near Seattle. I'm 34 years old and if I don't settle down, like marry, start a family, a career, a ministry, in America, or something, in the next few years, I will probably return abroad to live the rest of my life out in maybe Asia. So, I'm giving the USA a few years I think. If nothing great happen, then I'm out of there, I think.
