Blur On! What Abine's CEO Wrote After Zuck's Testimony
Have you heard about Blur yet? I use it on top of a VPN in Ubuntu.
You can't really be anonymous if you're in the World Wide WEB. It's a web - REMEMBER? It traps you and you're caught in the WEB forever.
Abine Is Underrated
Abine is underrated in my opinion. I have always used their Blur Firefox add-on. It's configurable so it's not too overwhelming. Some of the features like credit card and phone masking you have to upgrade but the key features for email masking, password generator and tracking protection are free.
Email Masking
I use this a lot. You can have as many masked emails as you want. Delete them afterwards when it gets too spammy.
Tracking
Here's a snap while making this post. Hmmm that's surprising to see a tracker here...it's the cookies for steemconnect since busy isn't using v2.steemconnect
From Abine's CEO, Rob Shavell
After Zuck's testimony at the US Congress, Abine's CEO sent out an email of gratitude to their customers. I received one and that gave me an idea for this post.
At Abine, we continue to work hard to provide online privacy that empowers you. Use any web site you want freely – just don’t give them all your real data. With Blur you can register and create new accounts without giving up your private data. Blur mobile encrypts and syncs your data (without Abine ever having access to your private account data) with your favorite browser – Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge – and lets you make and receive calls and texts on your iPhone or Android phone without giving out your mobile phone number.
...
We founded Abine because we believed no one but you should keep your data safe.
...
If you want your private info safe, don’t give it out as much.
...
In Abine’s case the product is your privacy – never your data.
...
Thanks from myself and the Abine team,
Rob Shavell (co-founder, CEO)
Andrew Sudbury (co-founder, CTO)
Eugene Kuznetsov (co-founder, Chairman)

thanks - I had never heard of this privacy tool before.
Its a good tool to help you keep your email out of the spammers and phishing folks hands.
I love learning about new tools, thanks @iamstan!
Thank you very much for the up vote and the comment.
It is a good tool I have been using it for a few years, You have to decide how much of it to use. It is not buggy after you get it set for what you want to do. At times it can be annoying because it is fast to suggest a masked email. I am used to it and it functions beautifully for me. I mostly use it for masking email. I use UBLOCK Origin for tracking and advertisement blocking. I have never watched a add on youtube.
Maybe I will do a post for that one as well.
It especially sweet for when you want to check something out anon and know you really don't want to subscribe. Then you just delete the email and never hear from that site again!
Edit: You resteemed it too! WOW thanks for your friendship. People like yourself make steemit the awesome place it is!
Interesting add on for Firefox. The Brave Browser has some of the same features but it doesn't have email masking which would be nice to have.
It is very good for that and maybe you can sign up and just create your own masked emails and never use the app inside your browser. https://www.abine.com/index.html
Thanks
