The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, informed on Monday that the material authors and immediate collaborators of the attack against the President, Nicolás Maduro, occurred on Saturday, August 4, have been identified. The attorney general announced the advances in the investigations. "On the day of the incident two people who operated one of the drones from a vehicle were detained in flagrante delicto." He also said, "there are witnesses who saw the device take off and identified them, this was the drone that crashed in the Don Eduardo residence on Armed Forces Avenue." On the other hand, explained that "it is presumed, according to the evidence gathered, that this attack is linked to an investigation being conducted by the Public Prosecutor at the moment: a terrorist attack exactly one year ago." .

Vladimir Padrino said that the detonations came from two M-600 drones loaded with C4, an explosive material that is activated through an electric drive and that would not have achieved the objective of impacting the president, having lost contact with those who controlled them. One of the aircraft flew over the presidential stand in order to remotely activate the explosive substance, but thanks to the techniques of the Presidential Honor Guard and the installation of signal inhibitor equipment, the drone was disoriented, Reverol explained. The other drone lost control in the approaches of the event and fell into a building called Don Eduardo, returning to level 1 "That was the black spot that passersby saw yesterday."

The regime announced on Sunday that it had arrested six people, two of them allegedly directly involved in the overflight of the drones that exploded generating panic in an event held in downtown Caracas to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the National Guard. Maduro, meanwhile, contends that the conspiracy was orchestrated by elements of the right in Venezuela, Colombia and Miami. And in a speech delivered hours after the attack on Saturday night, Maduro also accused outgoing Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos of being involved.
