PragerU and Candace Owens - Playing the Black Card
I do not have anything in particular to add to this video as it is well put together. I will say that I am a member of the only minority that truly matters. That minority is known as the individual. All other "minorities" are majorities when faced with that one. Identity politics has divided us and it is clear if you look that often this is a fire of unrest that is intentionally stoked or fanned. Media when it comes to identity politics is much more like an arsonist than they are firemen. They could unite us in solidarity, and usually they fuel identity politics and divide us. If it bleeds it leads.
This video is exceptional. I thought it needed to be shared here so more people would see it. I don't like when people just post someone elses video without comments of their own, so I thought it was important that I add a little to it.

I have a lot of problems with her approach to things. For someone who hated identity politics and "the black card", she is certianly more than willing to drone about being a conservative black woman as if that's some kind of achievement. When she talks about race, I can't help but look at her actions and see a double standard here.
It takes considering her audience. She is trying to wake up other black people. She is also trying to wake up white people that call for white genocide and buy into the white privilege nonsense.
As she said elsewhere people like Thomas Sowell are very influential on her current thinking, but they sadly are far more verbose than most of the audience she is aiming for will listen to. If she can shake them up then perhaps they'll look into Sowell and other brilliant people. If they cannot be shocked into looking though they won't bother.
She is spot on here and in most of her other videos. Can she come off as bit abrasive? Yes, but she gets the point across.
We are only one race and that is the human race. She is doing a good job of emphasizing this.
I have always hated this concept that she is discussing - it is so easy to blame something that you have no control over rather than taking responsibility for your actions yourself.
None of us are 'owed' anything. We need to take and earn what is ours, plain and simple.
I agree. Some people may see my pale skin and think I am biased. Yet, skin color is not proof of heritage. If I was all about the victimization bandwagon being pushed I could easily hit the Native American angle as even though I am pale skinned a lot of my direct ancestors were from three different Native American tribes. Two by genetics, and one via adoption by my step father.
Yet I am owed nothing. What actions I encounter in my life, and what actions I take are what matter.
Without a time machine the only thing I really need from the past is to LEARN from it, not use it as some reason to play the victim card.
When it comes to skin color. I am color blind until someone plays a skin color card and shoves it in my face.
I like people. I admire them for their minds, their personality, and their actions. I also dislike some people for those same things. I can see beauty in a person in their outward appearance of any skin color. Yet I am more concerned with things beyond outward appearance.
Also the entire diversity movement. It focuses completely on skin color and ethnicity and completely misses the point.
The only true diversity that matters is diversity of mind, ideas, and personality. That has absolutely nothing to do with skin color or ethnicity except perhaps in those that truly are racist.
