Government Roads

So I was leaving for work, but I needed to stop at the bank which is on the way. I wanted to be to work at about 1 well if everything went smooth I would have made it at 1 (3:30 is when my shift actually starts)

The problem is I was essentially forced to use a government road, I say essentially because it is not like private roads don't exist. Government makes it very hard to build a private road for "public" use when it's actually private use because people contract with the owner to use the road that is a private agreement.

Now lets also look at the economic factors at play here who on this earth could possibly provide roads for no charge? Well maybe a small road in a neighborhood, but I am talking about huge long stretches of roads that multiple people use daily.

So sense government provides these roads for "free" most people can't compete and build a better road at a better price, because there is no better price then "free".

I thought someone couldn't provide roads for free? Well they can't unless they call themselves government and they go and rob everyone in the neighborhood to build and maintain a road then they could provide it to those people they robbed for "free"

Now how does this tie into my daily life?

Well I ways on my way to the bank and I was looking to make it at 1 to 1:10, but instead government being as crappy as they are at building and fixing roads made it so traffic was backed up for about a mile moving maybe one car space in 4 minutes.

What if this were a private road?

Well what is the incentive for the owner of this road? Well he needs to provide you with a good service or product at a good price, now if you are backed up for a mile just because he had to fix a part of his road then you may not be to happy.

This would signal to another road company that they should try to minimize back up's, lets say he does it so people are not backed up and rather go a specific speed capable of keeping people not backed up, but moving smoothly in half the time.

Well more people would use that guys roads, because he is able to keep traffic flowing while fixing a part of the road.

Why does government allow back up's?

Well They have no competition like I said earlier who can compete with free? Well nobody.

So I ended up making it to work around 1:15 or 1:20, but still I was upset because I was knocked out of my funk thanks to government roads.
